It's funny because Pedro Pascal said that if he could've get something from the show it would've his costume because he looked like a god and honestly i agree

No matter how everyone may feel about the show we can all agree the costumes were above reproach .

You know, it really is stunning how much the Red Wedding costumes echoed through the rest of the series. Sansa keeps wearing her cloak she escapes in until she's reunited with Jon, and I believe the dress she wears to the Red Wedding is the same dress she escapes Winterfell and the Boltons in. But then there's her connection to Margaery. Sansa's black dress with the raven feathers that she leaves the Vale with Littlefinger in is the same fabric, and that's also when she first really utilizes Margaery's calculated femme fatale machinations. After that, I think she has *two* cloaks with that use that fabric: one that's fur lined that she wears when sentencing Littlefinger, and I think there might be one that's cut in her normal cloak style...? I could be wrong about that second cloak. And of course, her Queen of the North coronation gown is made with the same fabric. I really, really love how much the Red Wedding's costumes created such a subtle yet brilliant visual story for Sansa all the way through to the very last scene of the show.

God, I love this show's costumes. Michelle Clapton's designs have influenced and inspired me so much, I have an entire page in my blog dedicated solely to my GoT inspired costumes. And this is one of my favorite episodes costume-wise. Margeary's 1st wedding dress continues to snatch my wig to this day, God I love it! It's what inspired me to think of having an unconventional wedding dress if ever I get married.

That scene struck me as the one with the highest concentration of impractical outfits. As much as I love brocade, the thick lion stitching and the metal appliquets must be rough to wear. Also, if anyone has experience with chain mail, then they know that it loves to pinch and entangle hair. Putting that thing directly on the hair looked like a disaster waiting to happen... Speaking of my favourite costumes: Oberyn (probably not a big surprise looking at my profile picture), followed by Sansa, Tywin, Joffrey, Tyron...

Thanks for this - reminds me how fabulous the costume designers were for this series. I doubt we will see this level of expertise, creativity and skill in a TV series again 👍

Hi Linda! Yes, Michele raised the bar very high and I don't expect we will see anything like this again. But I am still remaining hopeful.

One thing that stuck out to me is that I was really wondering if Olenna wouldnt be sweating bullets in that outfit. Weather must have been both hot and humid! And I actually really disliked Ellarias outfit. The pointy shoulders and (to me) ghastly headdress thing! Guess I felt what Tywin and Cersei felt xD loved the colour, however.

It was a sweltering hot day according to Charles Dance. They likely would have had pit pads in all of the costumes for that reason.

@@Costume_CO Being an actor is not an easy job! I was an extra in a tv show, there is so much waiting, so many retakes. Catering services are vitaaal.

@@Liquessen how do they take care of toilet needs of whole team? From what I gather, the smallest team must be a small army everyone included. Especially in outdoor shots like battles, weddings, group jouneys etc...?

@@ismata3274 Yeah, you need to have either portapotties or an arrangement with local places so you can go there. Logistics is the maybe most important facet of any event but it's the part that rarely shows. If logistics are good, the event goes smoothly. If logistics are bad, it doesnt matter how fancy your food is because people will only remember the clogged toilet, the late food, the missing chairs and tents...

When I see all the thought that went into the gorgeous costumes in early seasons, it makes me sad to look at season 8 where they apparently only got black fabric

Thank you for this video! It took me back. I’ve always been curious to find out more about one particular costume Margaery wore that you’ve covered some in your other video. She only wore it in one scene on season 5 when Loras had been arrested and she was confronting Tommen. It looked stunning on Natalie Dormer.

Hi Garlan! Just double checked. That's the lace dress but it has this really lovely metal tracery like her wedding gown. The fabric is from Top Fabric of Soho but it appears to be discontinued.
