Oak leaf is probably my favorite hydrangea I see them a lot at retirement communities I’ve been looking for some but they are so hard to come by I can’t find them at local nurseries Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience

I’ve been watching your videos when you were in that little shed and you look like a bundled up there and I certainly appreciate when you say his or her backyard nursery his or her. I appreciate that like when you go to the store and everybody goes hey guys how’s it gone and I look at my husband and I don’t know I’m not a guy and I appreciate you specifying that.

I use "guys" generically... most of my videos have something like "hey guys..." at the beginning.. it just means "yall."

Hi. I think 🤔 that’s actually a great 😊 idea 💡!! A backyard nursery at a yard sale or putting it on Facebook market place ? Or where would you do to sell through what venue? I love 💗 and would like to propagate these limelight’s hydrangeas. If I can find some snowball hydrangeas that would be great also !!!

I love to watch your videos. I've been gardening for some time but only planted hydrangeas this year. Could you do this in a zone 5 and have the plants live through the winter in pots without some kind of greenhouse or protected area?

Absolutely! Just make sure the plants are hardy in your zone, preferably even into zone 4. Also... some plants just don;t overwinter well in pots... it's taken me a while to figure out which ones do well here.... always a learning curve.

Thinking about how to do it... maybe a video on plant age, and how long it takes to get them to a sell-ready size, and how that varies greatly among plant varieties.

@@savvydirtfarmer Yes, this is what I'm looking for! I'd like to start to sell next spring, but it seems that I couldn't get anything ready in time.. Would love to see a calendar view from softwood cutting, rooting, potting, and then selling.... maybe highlight a few faster growing and a few slower growing plants.

AMleo.com is one source. Also, I have a local Amish nursery supply place (about 80 miles away) where I buy most of them... very cheap. Nursery supplies are usually cheaper if you can find them locally, even if that means driving a couple hours to load up.

How do you know if a plant is patent or not so you know you can propagate the plant?

If you buy a plant at Lowe's (for example), there will be a tag on the plant with information about growing/care. Also, if the plant is patented, it will say "PP# 19,328" or "PPAF" or some other note about "asexual reproduction prohibited." It's usually very easy to see. Also, if you are ordering small plants from a wholesale nursery, it is noted on their availability/order sheets.

im not in the business (yet anyway) but speaking as someone who has purchased? making a note in your sales ad "this grows in shade!" or "perfect for that shady spot " or contrarily, "perfect for that Dry/wet/ sunny/shady" (basically a lot of us homeowners have a spot where its hard to grow anything... if you tell me "this will grow in that shady spot " or "this will grow in that horribly dry brutal sun spot" and i will be RIGHT THERE to buy it. i bought an oak leaf hydrangea just for my shade garden, and i dont *like* hydrangeas!

Every plant has an info card, with picture, that has all the pertinent growing info on it.
