The video is a review of the performance of the Super Falcons at the 2023 Women’s World Cup and how they could have gone all the way to the final and even possibly lifting the trophy after beating hosts Australia and battled England to a standstill. It also explores where the coach got it wrong in the match against England and how players like Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni Payne, Michelle Alozie, Ashleigh Plumptre and coach Randy Waldrum could have done better.
The 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand has been the most open and unpredictable in years with multiple upsets along the way. This video also explains how the gap seems to have closed between the traditional supper powers in Women’s soccer and the teams in the lower tier.

I hope those at the helm realise what Waldrum is doing and allow him continue his build up to the olympics

Working for NFF as a coach is a big challenge because of the appalling treatment. Don't be surprised if Waldrum opted not to return.

Unfortunately the NFF went ahead and ended his contract. The same thing they did to Rohr who was getting results until they decided to frustrate him by refusing to pay his salaries. Now we have to start all over again!

@@GreaterNationSports With NFF's well documented appalling treatments of foreign coaches (including locals) I'm surprised at how NFF manages to still get foreign coaches.

@@magnetmac1 That's why they only get average coaches. Doesn't help in efforts to attract foreign born players to play for Nigeria

Waldrum really gambles on the Super Falcons by not utilizing the key players in the team to the fullest as it ought to... But above all, the Super Falcons did well in the World Cup and shocked the globe that they are good footballers to be eyes on.

I agree on Uchenna Kanu. However immediately Opranozie entered, I knew the coacj was banking on penalty shoot outs. Oparanozie is actually the best but sometimes there are low days. No Falcon player has ever reached her on spot kicks. But yes I agree why remove Uchenna and Payne?

Oparanozie didn't play much during the tournament so even if she is good, she didn't get the play time needed to build enough confidence to play the first penalty. It was a lot to ask of her

@@GreaterNationSports I agree on the match rusty part. I think Oparanozie made the tea, just for spot kicks though. Honestly my sentiment immediately she stepped up. Confidence.

Yes, Nigeria and Super Falcons players will regret and forever remember this tournament for not going far or even winning it. Jut like USA 94 for Super Eagles. The coach tried, but he was responsible for the loss against England because he got his selections and tactics wrong, and Nigeria was nocked out of the tournament. The coach should stop selecting players based on their clud level. Rather, he should look at the individual qualities. For sure, Oparanozie is better than all our strikers, and unfit Oparanozie would have done a great job against England than Oshoala and Onumonu. Gift Monday is another striker that would have played against England in the first half, but the coach preferred Onumonu. If I were the coach, I would have played Oparanozie and Gift Monday. The deed has already been done. Nigeria already crashed out of the tournament, and they need to do more before another the next World Cup. Should learn from other big football nations. Football sense is more important in every aspect of sports. We are good but football is required more than good. Knowing when to tackle, shoot, and defend as a team or individual is very important in football. Football is not about the physical and running on the pitch but reading the game and knowing what to do as a player. England outsmart Nigeria in that area. They used their football sense to win the match. We had every opportunity to win that match, but the coach and the players did not take advantage of that 10 players to win the match. It's so painful.

Agreed on Oparanozie. She should have been given a runout in the match against England. Also still a bit puzzled why the coach would send a player who hasn't had some play time take the first penalty

You are best in analysing football and you know football very well my dear that coach didn't do well against England imagine leaving Gift Monday in the bench in that match am still saying it the coach no be best for nigeria and we have best defender and midfielder was best among others in the world cup 2023 but our coach doesn't have tactics to deliver

@@GreaterNationSportsyou guys should quit blaming the coach for PK selection. Francesca ordega said in her interview with a certain Nigeria sport blog on IG live that P.K takers selection was base on individual choice. Question was thrown to the floor about who wants to take the PKs. She stated that Oparanozie was/is their designated PK taker anytime any day, as long as she’s in the pitch. Maybe that’s why Oparanozie decided to go first. But that doesn’t mean the world should crash bcos of her PK miss. We have seen club legends blew -away chances of winning certain laurels for their various teams. E.G John terry for Chelsea against Man U at the UCL final

@@adenijisolomon9531 That's where planning comes in. If you plan for penalty kicks then you should have a strategy going in. The players can decide among themselves who feels confident enough to take the penalty kick but a good coach understands temperament and pressure and should intervene to say what the order will be. My argument is that she didn't have enough match time to build her confidence so shouldn't have taken the first kick. Same for Alozie and her confidence level apparent from her earlier miss in the match
