In my opinion, I am one for education about cinema. The more exposure boutique labels and their releases get the better for everyone. You and your guests are sharing their passions and thoughts about this releases. So, it is a damn good thing what you are doing. People getting mad for promoting OOP or almost OOP films or just sticking to Criterion releases are crazy. They are only thinking of themselves and not you and your audience. I have picked up a number of titles based upon your recommendations that are outside of my Criterion expertise and that is a very good thing to broaden one's scope of cinema. Keep It up! I really enjoy going on this journey with you and everyone else on the channel and in the chats.

Favorite VS release is without a doubt Cloak & Dagger. I love Richard Franklin’s Hitchcock style films and I think that Cloak is his best. As for other great VS titles, Undeclared War is a fantastic cop thriller. Ticks and Dead Heat are very fun 90s horror comedies on 4K. Freeway is great, but SUUUPER mean spirited. Really surprising to see Reese Witherspoon in a role like that. Tough Guys Don’t Dance is a baffling and fascinating film from Norman Mailer in which he adapts one of his novels. It has an incredible cast and feels like it was made on another planet. Partner title Sound and Fury feels like it should be a Criterion release. Really fantastic and just a surprise you can get it on the VS site.

I got Riddle of Fire recently, gonna watch it this weekend. It looks like one you’d be into. I also second the ExistenZ recommendations, that film was prescient. But it’s a shame the limited edition sold out. I also recommend every Deaf Crocodile lol check out their Iranian releases too. Rebel from Yellow Veil is fantastic And bunch of great Japanese & Filipino films from Kani Santet 1&2 are wild Indonesian fantasy horror movies. Weird and wonderful Once Upon a Time in Uganda is a great documentary about filmmaking there The Dog Who Stopped the War is a Canadian kids/family film you’ll want to buy

Thanks as always for all the recommendations, Patrick. You know me well. I bought 5 Deaf Crocodile titles. I also went down a Canadian International Pictures rabbit hole this morning and picked up 3 films, The Dog Who Stopped the War being one of them. I’m very interested in Kin-Dza-Dza from Deaf Crocodile, but it wasn’t on sale unfortunately.

@@FilmsByColor nice!! Great choices. There’s a cool animated collection from from Canadian International Pictures too. And “I Do Not Care If We Go Down In History as Barbarians” is a fascinating Romanian satire from Radu Jude who also did “Aferim!” and “Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn” Solomon Kane is a fun, independent film from Oakland that is similar to Shaft! but has its own vibe. Killer soundtrack

Quantum Cowboys is another cool one featuring Lily Gladstone and has like dozen animation & film styles. And I watched “Will Your Heart Beat Faster?”, a Filipino comedy/musical from Kani. It has some interesting commentary about the Philippines relation to/between Japan and China. Also the dancing nun scene is iconic

@@FilmsByColor was just going to leave this comment. Glad someone mentioned it. Also, if you don't know Terror Vision released Dante's Inferno from 1911 and you may want to pick that up. The slip is gone though it still is an excellent release.
