i have been a console gamer for 10 years. I just switched to pc about a month ago, wish I would have done this years ago. Gaming in 1440p and 80 plus frames its awesome. Ive got two 980"s in sli with a fxa 990 motherboard with a amd 8350 cpu.

games i CAN play on the PC that CANNOT be played on the consoles [and there are a lot]... consoles simply cannot deal with these games; THE WHOLE TOTAL WAR SERIES [and i love Medieval2:Total War, Napoleon Total War, Rome Total War, Shogun2 Total War, etc etc NOT including the fact that Total War has so many mods i was able to play Middle Earth LotR mod, Stainless steel mod that adds a lot more realism to the strategic elements and fixes a lot of the vanilla effects with realistic 'charging' with cavalry as well as scores of new units and factions such as the Hospitallers with Med2:TW AND many many more mods suc as WW1 The Great War mod]; Hearts of Iron series, not including the mods community; i could say the Battlefield 1942 slew of mods that made that arcade like game so much more realistic with HUGE maps and 128 player servers. eg, the Forgotten Hope mod for BF1942 added purely aerial battles across vast areas because bombers have to fly long ways and the enemies could use Nightfighters to attack them as well as Flak but that's just a single example of how a rather arcade like game like BF1942 was upgraded to a far more enjoyable realistic experience with squads of 8-12 guys forming up, all using the same channel/port on Teamspeak to talk whilst they planned their attack. SO.... i didn't see the xbox360 nor PS3 doing that way back in 2006 and later, nor did i battle in a Japanese destroyer at Midway with a console. If i wanted to i could mention a shitload of games you just cannot play on the consoles. why? because they can't handle 20 units of roughly 200 3D troops like Longbowmen, footknights, spearmen with a King or Prince commanding them with accompanying heavy cavalry and other types of troops and Mercenaries. Can the consoles handle Arma2 or 3? There are so many games that consoles simply cannot or devs won't build for consoles because the controller cannot handle the mass of keys required to command an army in the field. There's no comparison.

I've done the research and you can build a PC that's faster than the spec NTG listed in his vid for GPU power, with SSD and 1TB hard disk, and the total cost was £389. If you look for used GPUs, you can normally find a gem somewhere, and that's what this spec is; The end price that this spec will vary as there are SOME used parts in here. Oh, and this spec, funnily enough the same spec that I had for my first AMD PC. Only my rig was £420 (#BlazeIt) with mostly BRAND NEW components. Oh, and my gaming rigs, while totalling over £2,000 total between 2 revisions. The best part is, I'm still £580 better off after doing a bunch of maths!! That went straight into other items as well as a few system upgrades. That isn't true because it depends on the size of the game and what parts your computer have and it really baffles me that he couldn't understand that even after saying that pcs are super expensive. If they cost more because you're getting good parts than, more likely than not, it'll run faster. An exception to that point being Apple products

Also if looking at Steam's DRM policy, that is a big reason many of us has started to buy as many games as we can on GOG instead, because that place is DRM free (and because it actually has pricing that makes sense if you are outside USA), so as PC gamers we are aware of DRM, and we have the freedom to choose not to buy a game that is locked behind DRM (usually) where on the console you really don't have that option

On the matter of the impact of console gaming on the gaming industry, the commodore-64 and 128 variant had more games than any other platform at the time (not counting all of the random independently). so that's the years 1982 - 1994 for the 64 and 1985 - 1989 for the 128. I'm 16, and I have a job. I've worked mowing lawns for grandparents, and aunts since I was 11. I bought a PC with that money. Now that I'm 16 I have a pretty nice PC, and I make in a couple weeks what I used to make in a year. Which is why I'm on PC. Why would I want Steam to be a social thing. That's what forums, or guilds are for.

PS4 and Xbone still hold most of the market share. Let's compare specs. Xbone: 1.75GHz 8 core cpu, 8GB RAM, 1.31TFLOP GPU, 500GB HDD. PS4: ??GHz 8 core CPU (somewhere guessed 1.6GHz, but guess means shit), 8GB RAM, 1.84TFLOP GPU, 1TB HDD. Cool. Now let's take a look at the current Steam hardware survey. 3.0-3.29GHz Intel quad core, 8GB RAM, over 1TB HDD space. The GPU is slightly goofy, as it doesn't specify whether it's the 6GB or 3GB GTX 1060 that's most common. Either way, both are running over 4TFLOPS. Also, that quad core stat only includes physical cores, so an i7 7700k would count as a quad core, yet would flat out destroy a console CPU. The PS4 Pro is barely under the 1060 in performance, and the 1060 isn't recommended for 4K. That should tell you something. The more powerful and expensive XboneX is roughly equivalent to a 1070, which still isn't very good for 4K gaming. Why can they sell the XboneX for $500? Because they're making no profit on it. They're either selling at a loss, or at cost. That build he showed, wasn't a budget build. $50 case, with a SSD and a hard drive, plus 8GB of ram. Hell my friend played on console his whole life, but we built him a $300 PC in his words "Why didn't I do this sooner" we play R6Siege, and he can run it in 1080 with around 40-60 frames (depending on his settings), way better then what the console counterpart provides.

If you take all that wouldn't it basically mean the consoles have more crashes than pc?

When a game on my PC crashes, it closes and I restart the game. When a game crashes on my Xbox, It freezes the console, I need to unplug it, let it sit for a while, then start playing again. The point should be clear there.

I wish more people, when talking about paying for services like X-Box live, would bring up what a complete failure it was for Microsoft when they attempted to charge for X-Box live on PC, and could have been the same for these consoles if more people had taken a stand against early on. I feel dirty even thinking about Games for Windows Live, and I sincerely apologizes to anyone who may be effected negatively by the mere mention of that cancerous piece of software.
