Brazil bought the territory of the current state of Acre from Bolivia, after a period of conflicts in the region. EDIT: Treaty of Petropolis (November 17, 1903), looks for "Questão do Acre" (Acre's Issue/ Question of Acre).

You could have covered the forced sale of Rupert's Land from the Hudson's Bay company to Canada, arranged by the British. This occurred very shortly after the sale of Alaska to the US and involved a much larger area. The US was very interested in acquiring that land themselves as it was enormous, would have likely led to a direct land connection to Alaska, and might have led to a quick end for the rest of Canada.

There’s also Brazil buying Acre from Bolivia, after the territory had 3 revolts by the locals to secede from Bolivia. Both countries ultimately decided on a peaceful transfer of land in exchange for cash.

France sold a territory it did not control after the war against Spain and Mexico. Louisiana was govern by the French only for 3 years when it was sold and there were almost 0 troops to defend it against the US or any European rival at this time. So, even if we can regret the lose of this "colony", it seems it was an interesting gamble for Bonaparte.

Fun fact: as odd or silly as it might seem for the US to buy Greenland from Denmark (something that was first proposed by Woodrow Wilson, and most recently by Donald Trump), the last purchase the US made of territory was also from Denmark, back in 1917: the islands of St. John, St. Thomas, and St. Croix, aka the US Virgin Islands.

You should have mentioned with the islands that Spain sold to Germany technically Spain never sold the island of Kapingamarangi due to an oversight entreaty so technically Spain should still have a colony in Micronesia even if they don't actively try to pursue it
@TheLocalLt

Kapingamarangi has had one of the most interesting histories; was unorganized for much of history, then in succession it became Spanish, then German, then Japanese, then American, finally becoming part of the independent Federated States of Micronesia in I believe 1979. Same for the Carolines, Northern Marianas, and Palau

While Greenland was a self governing part of the Danish Kingdom, so it could not be sold, I always thought that if Trump wanted to expand the American "empire", there was somewhere he could have bought. Britain has been keen to get rid of their remaining fragments of empire for over 50 years, but for various reasons they have not been able to. But Pitcairn island in the Pacific Ocean (population 45) has been particularly troublesome for Britain and I am confident that if Trump offered them $1 for Pitcairn, Britain would have been happy to accept the offer.

To purchase the Selfkant. It was so that everything that was in a house or barn was tax-free when changing countries. Weeks before the change, Dutch trucks were seen cramming barns and houses with goods. The area changed countries overnight. The goods were then picked up by German trucks the next morning. As far as I know was the Isle of Man not a part of the independece of Scotland from Edward II. It remained a posession of the English King but was never part of England. Due to this, the Isle of Man is in a kind of "independence" (simular to Jersey and Guernsey, wich are the remainings of the Duchy of Normandy in the posession of the monarch of England and later Great Britan).
