We had an issue with an air leak. Whenever we would stop and park, ultimately we would end up bottomed out with an HWH warning for excessive slope. After tracking it down, we found we had an airbag leak.

Thank you taking the time to make this video. I have the same coach with the same color scheme bought new is 11/03. Actually had the front drivers side air bag blow while parked in an rv park. What an ordeal. Great info for resources as I have no intentions of selling the coach. Thanks again.

Where did you jack up the coach(our Newmar is not a tag axle). Under the main axle or the frame some where. Thanks. "Safe travels and adventures.

If you’re going to do bags…kind of both places. IF….you can reach the bags without taking tires off, then you can support coach under frame so when you let the air out, the coach will not bottom out. Makes it easier to get the bags out. If your full air ride, you will definitely need to support the frame. Not completely familiar with your coach design, but mostly the same concept with bags.

Great informative video. Thanks. I'm having trouble finding bags for my 2000 fleetwood bounder 39Z freightliner chassis. Of course freightliner says "no longer available" any suggestions where to start?
@ALongLongWaytoGO
@ALongLongWaytoGO 3 ай бұрын
Ohhhh man….Being a Freight-liner chassis you share many characteristics of the original “big truck” chassis. I would think any big truck repair facility would be able to help you identify an equivalent bag since they probably run into the same issue with the truck chassis when replacing air bags. Companies like Performance Mack have some pretty darn smart guys that probably have dealt with the issue already. Are there any PN’s available of the original bag? Something that could be cross referenced to a readily available bag? While definitely harder to do, measurements can be used on Firestone air bags to find something comparable.

I’m not sure if the part numbers I included in the video are the same as yours….however…Oregon MotorCoach is a Fantastic company to deal with. Just simply e-mail or call with your coach information…build # helps out…and they can definitely fill you in on PN#’s required. Again not sure on yours…but a lot of these bags were specific builds by GoodYear and have been discontinued…but there are equivalent replacements out there. Thanks for posting this video. Although it's a couple years to late for us. We have a 2004 CC Allure 40 Ft/tag and our air bag(same one you have) blew while we were at Emerald Cove RV Resort in Parker,Arizona. When it blew everyone close to our site came out of their rigs to see what the loud bang was. I called a mobile mechanic, he found the blown air bag but no parts stores were close. He found out the hard way that this air bag was a proprietary one of a kind bag. Long story short we had to leave the coach in the RV park, Emerald Cove Resort was really understanding 2 weeks later the mechanic sourced a Firestone bag. $750. was his bill. I never pursued looking for the other air bags, so thanks to you I have the information if we ever need it. New subscriber from Arizona.

Good video. I just replaced all ten air springs under our 2003 Monaco Dynasty about 9 months ago. None were leaking but I replaced as preventative measures to avoid having issues on vacation. Eight of mine were cracking severally but not leaking. My two tag axle air springs looked nearly like new but got replaced anyways. Personally I'm not a fan of teflon tape on hydraulic or pneumatic systems and prefer thread sealant, either Permatex or preferably ARP's sealant. Also I recommend replacing the PTC fittings as the O-rings inside begin to leak over time especially once they've been disturbed. I also recommend carrying a few spares as well as some extra air lines for roadside emergency repairs. Especially on these aging coaches such as ours. Mike
@ALongLongWaytoGO
@ALongLongWaytoGO 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The thread sealant is why my company switched to the Blue Monster. Liquid sealant coated tape. Easier for techs to carry on the service trucks. A lot less messy for sure. This Country Coach has been a learning curve for sure. But a good learning curve. !!!

I don't use "teflon" plumbers tape, but I'd be quite comfortable using the blue stuff or the grey stuff....both are qualifed for gas. As "LLWtG" says they work, I'm very sure they work..... you might be right about the PTC fittings leaking over time if they are disturbed too much. But, I'm amazed at how well they work when not frequently opened and adjusted.

What are PTC fittings ( are they the ones that swivel .
@zmotorsports62
@zmotorsports62 2 жыл бұрын
@@rodwilliams2782 PTC stands for Push To Connect. These come in a variety of configurations including swivel if you purchased them as such. I prefer to use compression style over the PTC however. They seem less prone to leaning long term but the PTC fittings are quick and easy to use. Just be sure to make the cut absolutely square and clean before inserting the air line into the fitting. How that answers your question. Mike

I have a Monaco Dynasty that rides on airbags and I use a $50 electronic leak detector that I bought on Amazon. Works 1000% better than soapy water and a flashlight especially when you have to lay on your back and look up 2 1/2 feet above you into the chassis.

Good question….as we had just bought the Coach not long before…digging through miles of service records and receipts..I have found quite a few bags had been replaced. I have since done all the front and the remaining tag bags. Next up…drive axle…BUT…a little cash build up. We don’t have huge checkbooks like some and it’s a work in progress. Just had it painted and moving on now to more lithium and solar…it’s all coming together nicely….and MAYBE…by retirement age…all will be done…Kind of.. LOL….Only 15 more years to go.
