Never apologize for shedding a tear for our soldiers. They are true American Heroes.

Lisa, don’t apologize for the tears. I’m a Veteran myself and I shed tears for all my brothers and sisters that never made it home. I also shed a tear for the ones that did make it home, but were broken in body or mind. It’s the price we paid to try and make the world a better, safer place. No, you should not feel bad for the tears, all it shows is that you’re human after all.

If a song can bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eyes, then the writer and singer have done their job to leave a lasting memory in your soul you will always remember. Great song and video.

Most of us wrote a letter just like this, and left it behind so our friends who survived could send it back to the world. If we came home, cool, if we didn't we knew that our brothers would see that our survivors would get some solace.

In this age of instant information we need to be reminded of all the men and women that laid down their lives so we could remain free. No better way I know of than through music. God bless them all and comfort and watch over their families.

They DESERVE our tears....my husband served in the Military for 20 years and thankfully came home (although he passed away 3 weeks ago, taking both my heart and soul with him. We were married 48 years, although he was only 69 when he left me). If you want to watch a real life film about our Military coming home watch the movie "Taking Chance" starring Kevin Bacon. You'll learn a lot about Honoring our Military. To those that have served as well as those now serving : Thank you for your sacrifices....

I've never heard this song. I detest wars for this very reason. My hubby was a medic in Vietnam and after 35 years, he's never talked about any of it with me...but fortunately he's here to talk if he wants. So many of our men and women didn't come home. Thanks for your reaction to this song, Lisa. It's hard to accept such beauty (the song) when it is concerns such tragic events. Take care, be well and get some rest. Peace.

We wouldn't have our freedoms if we didn't have war fighting for those freedoms. If you don't like your freedom, then leave.

My grandpa who was in the Army in WW2 never talked about it and I never really understood why, but I realized that he had to see the faces of some of the people he had to kill, I’m sure he had PTSD.

I am reading & catching up on what's happened in Ukraine this weekend while watching some KZfaq and I stumbled upon your channel - it's April 2022. I know (and Thank God there are no US Troops over there) but I cry for the Ukraine people who were attacked without reason. Reading the news about Ukraine and listening to this song brought so many tears -

This sure did pack an emotional wallop. Many folks think patriotic country songs are jingoistic, "let's bomb 'em" kind of songs. This song is a worthy descendant of Willie Nelson's classic anti-war song "Jimmy's Road" because it deals with the human cost of warfare.
