Санкт-Петербург это историческое название, и правильно что оставил так. А освобождал Хрущёв именно в его правление число политзаключёных резко сократилось.

Lord, did I, as a communist, live up to the time when someone showed the history of the USSR (albeit in abbreviation) but objectively! (It is especially nice that someone from the West is talking about this from an English-language channel) Still, there are shortcomings, like "Petersburg" instead of the glorious city of "Leningrad". But in general - a worthy video, without liberal nonsense and fairy tales of the West, and the Putin's and Kremlin's propaganda about the "totalitarian Sovok" (Sovok - it is russian liberal sleng-name about Soviet Union).

Near the Moscow when nazi were stopped should have been iconic order number 227 “Not a Step Back!”. Stalin ordered no more retreats until ordered otherwise, sent elite fresh out of academy Red Cadets, who took over the command and were able to organise defence so well that experienced German generals were forced to stop their advance and than retreat themselves. “Not a Step Back!” Order though highly criticised was one of the most important orders in Soviet History it stopped panic and galvanised people. Soldiers recall that it was a moment of clarity for them a moment they realised that death was inevitable and all they could do was to stop Germans and sent them back where they came from, their future where they were not dead seemed so far away they had to jump towards it.

here are the words of my parents and the captains with whom I worked in the navy. they said that there was order, there were resources, there were salaries, everything was of high quality and inexpensive, logistics was well developed, they did not face a shortage. Mom lived in the Republic of Khakassia, captains in the Tyumen region (Siberia) and dad in Uzbekistan (he's Russian, just used to go there often)
