can't believe i've had to say this but: murder conspiracists or any anti-courtney comments are not welcome in my comment section. i want to keep this a safe and positive space. take your toxicity somewhere else. “While all these things were very special, none were half as rewarding as having a baby with a person who is the supreme example of dignity, ethics and honesty. My wife challenges injustice and the reason her character has been so severely attacked is because she chooses not to function the way the white corporate man insists. His rules for women involve her being submissive, quiet, and non-challenging. When she doesn't follow his rules, the threatened man (who, incidentally, owns an army of devoted traitor women) gets scared. A big ‘fuck you’ to those of you who have the audacity to claim that I’m so naive and stupid that I would allow myself to be taken advantage of and manipulated. At this point I have a request for our fans. If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of different color, or women, please do this one favor for us -- leave us the fuck alone! Don't come to our shows and don't buy our records.” - kurt cobain.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE the quote! I miss the king and queen of my 90s teenage-hood! Y’all REALLY made an adorable baby and GORGEOUS woman! It’s OBVIOUS you did a great job raising her. All the haters are just jealous that Courtney got all of the hotties and most talented, famous dudes every girl wanted to be with. 🌈 🐈⬛

Agreed because she’s not the best person but not the worst and also if your husband/wife/spouse dies it would feel fucking terrible to blame her. Some of the stuff that prove “that she killed him” maybe someone else murdered him. Maybe Kurt and Courtney’s marriage was going downhill but that doesn’t give you the right to blame her and disrespect her. I will admit that some stuff that shows that it may not be a suicide and “she killed him” but someone else could’ve really. Plus I don’t know about their personal life and mostly no one knows about their personal life other than close friends. This isn’t a anti-Courtney.. I don’t think it was her, either a suicide or someone else killed him, I’m almost 100% sure it wasn’t her. Plus when someone’s husband/wife/spouse like dies in some sort of way and you show a huge poster of him/her/them when it’s YOUR concert and she reacts like that you knows she loved him.. a lot. She’s a normal person and not a saint everyone has their pro’s and con’s.

@@pixie77531 she did not say that. I am very, very familiar with the whole canon, the opus itself. Bedsides which, how can “r-worded” work in a quotation without undermining and invalidating it? The point of the distinction you were trying to make depends heavily on your citing of her words, as they were written or said, and the quotation marks you included are meant to tell the reader when the author of the text, in this case you in your comment, is no longer the active voice we hear-it belongs to another. Courtney would have never said “r-worded.” That is a peculiarly youthful, unschooled, faddish, social media-minded young people who don’t actually remember her work and it’s massive import in the culture at the time, and her antics and missteps and many moments of misbehaviour. Courtney herself was the victim of inappropriate sexual contact and sodomy with a predatory man in her early teens. She was nearly raped late one night outside Jumbo’s Clown Room by a lecherous patron of that nudie bar, narrowly escaping. It inspired “Garbadge Man” among other records, more generally in these cases, from Pretty On the Inside. She helped organise “Rock Against Rape,” spoke out about Harvey Weinstein. She harbours no disdain or disapproval of rape and sexual assault victims, what with those figures comprising herself. That’s such a weird thing for you to say here.
