I use the 38fc for pools a lot. I think it’s a great product. I used the 38 , non fc, and if you put it on too thick it would never dry!

Good Video and here's an example of what your saying, just doing a diy ensuite reno and got your products from beaumonts, and was told that 1 x 15l pail would be enough to do a standard bathroom or ensuite, didn't seem to want to listen to the fact that I read the application rates and it wouldn't be enough in my view. "all the guys generally only use one and you don't need to do the whole floor". The 15l rapid Bt pail is good for 10m2, my shower area is 9.8m2 on its own, leaves nothing for the remaining floor, behind a P-trap toilet etc. while they were helpful in other ways, not following instructions doesn't help anyone. Could I also get your advice on the following questions please: which sealant to use on the wall to wall villaboard joints?, do i need to apply a silicone in the 6mm gap at the floor junction or just use the B10 joint band with BT rapid? can i use the B10 on the wall to wall joints or is just sealant ok? the concrete floor is flat so i am using a 50mm angle to build a screed, how do I bond the screed to the membrane? and when going over the top of the screed also, do you repeat with the b10 tape between the screed and walls? I only want to do this one time! cheers

Hi Greg, thanks for watching! Always follow the recommendations regarding coverage rates to ensure the required film thickness is achieved. The required extent of the membrane application is based on categories of risk as covered in AS 3740 and the NCC respectively. For example, for enclosed showers, the membrane only needs to be applied to the extent of the shower area, while open showers (frameless) need to extend 1500mm out onto floors in an arc from the shower rose. For small bathrooms with frameless showers, applying the membrane to the whole floor simplifies the application whilst meeting the minimum requirements. Villaboard wall/wall junctions These should be flushed with base coat/tape first as part of the Villaboard installation requirements The B10 Joint Band is the best practice, for sealing this joint as part of the waterproofing application. It is quick to install and provides the most robust protection. Floor/wall junctions The B10 Joint Band acts as the bondbreaker and can be applied directly at the wall/floor junction without the need for sealant behind. When screeding over a membrane, using a liquid admixture to create a cement slurry primer over the membrane surface is advisable. This will achieve the necessary key to the sealed membrane surface The admixture should also be used as part of the mixing liquid into the screed (Admixtures enhance the adhesion and general performance of cement-based compounds and are used to facilitate adhesion to non-absorbent/sealed membrane surfaces). Pre-bagged/engineered screeds can also be considered, as these are polymer enhanced. Gripset 11Y is a concentrated SBR latex admixture suitable for this application. Details can be found on our website. Other proprietary admixtures can be used, ensure instructions are followed. Over screed application If applying a secondary membrane over the screed, the bondbreaker at the wall/floor junctions must still be used. The B10 Joint Can be used, alternatively, a 12mm sealant bead can also be considered and is compliant with relevant waterproofing standards. Hope this helps! :)
