Today is a monumental day in our Cozy Log Home DIY series-it's the day we've all been waiting for! Join Wranglerstar as we lay the groundwork for our 18x24 cabin by pouring the concrete footings. This critical step brings us closer to realizing our dream rustic retreat.
But there's more! While we await the arrival of the concrete, come along on a special tour inside Shop 1.0. Wranglerstar, along with his manservant and son Jack, will unveil the latest upgrades and enhancements they’ve meticulously implemented. This behind-the-scenes look is not to be missed!

You motivate me brother. I worked on a project this afternoon and it’s always so satisfying to look at your work once you’re finished. I’ve helped with concrete work a few times over the years as a construction worker and you’re right that there is something different about pouring concrete. It’s satisfying work and you know it’ll be there for many years to come.

I’m a concrete dispatcher, it always amazes me how busy everyone is within an hour of the plant. Even through Covid it was one of our best years. As long as people keep ordering concrete the industry keeps churning.

Its called an underbucker. The bladed part wedges into a log and the saw rests on the roller wheel to do a cross cut from the bottom up on a felled tree. They have been obsolete since chainsaws became widely used and available, but for a collector or arborist enthusiast, theyre very neat. Our forefathers had a solution for everything.

In your workshop the electrical outlets are upside down. The ground hole goes on the bottom, the two slots in the top.

Hammer wedge into a log and use the roller as leverage roller for the spine of the saw to undercut the log. Im the 1

Build four of them in a back to back formation and put them on locking casrors. Then you can move them around as you need to use the space.

I just got the permit approved to build a new deck on my house, and it is a bit of a headache to navigate the bureaucracy. This week I'm demolishing the old deck, cleaning up the site, putting the back flashing on the house, and laying out the locations for the beams and posts. Hoping I can dig the holes for the piers, pass a footing inspection, and pour concrete by the end of next week. Doing it all by myself in my spare time, so it won't be the quickest build.
