Crabbing in Oregon at Newport's Historic Bayfront! I Dock Crabbing for Red Rock! I Bay Street Pier!

7 ай бұрынThis trip to the Coast was a short family outing to Newport, Oregon (Historic Bayfront) to crab off Bay Street Pier for anything we could catch. We caught a few small Dungeness Crab and several nice Red Rock (keeper crab). We had a nice time getting out as a family.

Right? I think if we stayed another couple hours we might have got into some keeper Dungeness. We left before high tide.

So much rain this month and fresh water in the bays has probably hurt crabbing success. Haven't been over to try. Waiting for a week or so of dry weather.

You're absolutely right! It will be nice once things dry up a bit. We probably won't wait but will temper expectations while the weather is wet.

Nice, a few tasty morsels there huh! Are the red rocks as good as the dungy’s? Thanks much for the crabbing video. It was mighty fine.

Thanks Michael! Some like the Red Rock more and swear they are sweeter than Dungeness. I know our camp prefers Dungeness so we'll give the Red Rock away.
