@Endless Nameless I'm not saying people shouldn't be responsible. But I would look at the situation in a more big picture sense. There's not always great sex-education or resources. Due to that, they may not be using contraception or even have access to them. I do think individuals have to take responsibility for themselves, but I also think we can't entirely cast blame on the individuals but on bigger things. Many of these drug addicts have children. I'm just saying that maybe there's a larger problem at hand.

She stops herself from smiling or laughing every time bc of her teeth. It’s a shame what bad teeth can do for how we feel about ourselves. I broke 1 tooth close to the front of my mouth and it changed everything about when and how I smile. IF I’ll laugh at something and even just how my mouth sits. Luckily I’ll be fixing it this month but for these ppl I just feel for them

SAME!!! I have an auto immune issue and my teeth started to crack / break years ago - by the time I was 22 my teeth were so bad. They were so perfect before. Thankfully I had the nerves removed, but now I have just temps in I can’t afford to finish the root canals.. my very front tooth the temp broke. Only have about 30% left and it looks so bad.. I went 1 year without smiling .. I bought those wax bead things from amazon that you melt down in water.. it took so many tries to get it right! 4 beads - was perfect. & I did have to let it soak in tea because it was super white! My husband didn’t know it was something I made.. I just thought I got it fixed. If you do not have a tooth- you can form it to latch around the back of your surrounding teeth. I went to a dental thing last weekend & when they started the dentist asked me what it was - he said he was so impressed he didn’t know something wasn’t Right until he looked behind my teeth with a mirror ... I think they are called poly morph beads .. you could prob get them at a craft store. I ordered a large bag off of amazon for like $10. One tooth lasts me about 6 months. I could get longer but just like to replace it by then. I’ve used tons of beads and my bag still looks full.. it is a little irritating at first.. but once you get it down, it’s pretty easy to work with. It literally changed my life

I spent $12,000 on them when I was 30 and now I’m getting ready to spend about another six to just get the rest of the top ones pulled out and get a top denture. It sucks I don’t feel like I’m old enough to do that and I’m afraid my face is going to pucker, but it’s better than hiding behind teeth that give people an impression about me that just isn’t true. Good luck with your future endeavors I hope you get your smile back soon!!

@amy w i'm not christian, but i do believe prayer works no matter what religion you are, putting an intention of good will definitely helps, and can effect people. I don't understand why people are being so cynical, about someone trying to help others. Btw Einstein, and quantum physicists believe that consciousness is non local and experiments prove it, think he called it the spooky effect, because atoms behave differently when observed, so thought affects matter, that's why prayer works, it's really not that crazy.

One more thing to add for the owner of this channel & the interviewer again, THANK YOU SINCERELY for genuinely understanding, caring, & most of all simply, taking the time to educate On & about addiction in general (no matter the doc 'drug of choice'). It very much so, DEEPLY means an amount &way that's TRULY indescribable to MYSELF & us addicts! ESPECIALLY with the gut churning, heart wrenching, & OVERALL fully dehumanzing sense and ways the LABEL of the ONE 'simple'word ADDICT leaves us with during active addiction ESP. The most damaging when that person is seeking help & or ready to change and or HAS been seeking help. Even in early on the road to& in recovery, it's damaging the way the label has become so dehumanizing . PEOPLE NEED to set their opinions aside and educate themselves factually about addiction in general ,along with all that it comes with such as the withdrawals from which substance esp. with prior health problems that someone had before addiction therefore not due to their addiction or during the addiction whether it's caused by addiction or not is still and can still be very severe or serious even deadly due to conflicting complications of withdrawals. Most have never even heard of post acute withdrawal which is a very real thing too. just hear these stories it's dreadful to not just understand ,yeah no one forced them to shoot up or consume like with a gun pointed to their head, sure in most cases, and mainly metaphorically speaking, but addiction begins to feel that way once you're in it to just stay well and normal and functional seeming sober and feel like you're gonna die regardless. It's hell, you become a prisoner inside your own body. Doing things degrading of yourself morals and what u stand for as who you are and as your own person, just to be able to eat shit shower and shave like a normal human being that so many take for granted, it becomes hell almost instantly and I'm happy to have found a bit more hope and faith in humanity with this person dedicating themselves to this channel and allowing us addicts to tell their story the best they can and while they even may care to any longer is a beautifully taken step in the right direction. Again it would be a blessing all on its own of I ever EVER for the chance to share in one of these interviews, I've always been told I could write a book about my life starting as a young girl hearing that, now at 27 almost 28, I could definitely believe I could with what they meant. I would only desire to though and do so as a last resort to tell my story if I weren't ever allowed an opportunity I've craved and dreamt of for as long as I can remember now, I've always said I feel as if I've lived many lifetimes already. Some even have a hard time believing me until they find it to be true and apologize. It's been long overdue time for me to release it out of me, but it's never been done so in the correct way and sense for the correct reason and this channel awakened me to that as I was already accepting the fact that well at least God and myself know the truth and my story, that it would never happen and moving on from it. Especially with moving on acheveing a successful recovery, I'll be able to tell it later on possibly in peices , but never to fulfill this dream I've had and started to let go of and accept for what it is. I've tried journaling but it's not the same, I've tried not caring to do so anymore but I feel the need to and it's disheartening the opportunity is never there as if maybe I've been mislead. But hopefully one day. Thank you all so much Keep doing what you're doing Stay strong for the day and God bless. Best of wishes to you all. Sincerely- auti jean

The mind is a powerful thing… think about it why can women and men live down low lives their whole life have kids build families and then one day they snap out of it and realize they want to live their truth and find themselves . Different situations but same kind of denial . It’s easier sometimes mentally to be in denial than to really realize and accept how bad things are and work on fixing them and making your life how you want . Just a coping strategy we all do it on smaller scales .

BandoCommando EastSideTrue313 I love your posts. Your concern for others like us is really heartening. You’ve got a lot more to give than the people who haven’t been through it and go around acting superior, posting toxic remarks. My man and I ran the streets together, for several years spending $400-700 a day on s**t, sometimes more. Now he’s working in a drug rehab for the last couple years and is doing so much better for people than a lot of the employees. He tells me all the ignorant remarks he hears from the counselors and other RA’s, and It hurts him personally to see patients being treated that way so he does what he can to help, however he can. I know you’ve got it in you to do something like that if you want to, or something creative and expressive... your experience is really valuable.

No. No, excuses. Taking drugs is a chosen decision. No one holds a gun to the head and forces people to use. There's always freewill. She's an adult, now. This is now a choice. Where there's a will there's a way. Many people don't change, because they're weak willed. There's plenty of treatment centers. It's all about priorities, admitting that there's a problem and surrendering to a power that's greater than anyone. (God's grace helps those that help themselves.) Addicts value drugs over their families and integrity. That's the serious, sick, sad truth of this matter. I believe that she is perfectly capable, just like everyone else to cease using drugs. We all get by with a little help from rehab center friends. I have no doubt that she could change her life if she had a burning desire to do better. There's many people who chose to do better and they become BETTER.

Hey SWU, great interviews and very interesting work - thank you for doing this important stuff. Just a suggestion: sometimes you close off your questions by suggesting an answer - e.g. when did you get started with drugs - at high school? or Where do you eat, at the shelters? I think it would be better if you kept your suggestions out of the questions to allow your subjects to answer.

I know exactly where Muncie is, considering I'm from Indiana myself and never been far from that area though and I've lived coast to coast. It's always more in depth and hits home/deeper when a person is from around when you're from. I think this is only my second time commenting ever tbh, I felt my last comment was a bit too much though I meant every word. I am Rather shy as odd as it is I STILL GENUINELY DEEPLY & SINCERELY wish I could receive a blessing to have the opportunity to share my story on one of THESE interviews, I feel drawn to it. NOBODY who knows my story remembers or cared/cares if they were even paying attention to it or understood it is beyond me and everyone else couldn't care less because I'm an addict, labeled , so to most people I've ever had an opportunity to do so which hasn't been often at all, I'm not worthy or what's the point when in groups you have to have so much clean time and certifications to share like these people get to and I feel if i had the opportunity to do so now , it would greatly improved myental state contributing to my recovery, People dehumanize me always because of the label. Though IRONICALLY I'm in recovery as of June 28th 2018 as of current, tho I've lapsed and relapsed few and far between, it's part of the process and ive taken the necessary actions that work for me to keep going and not letting the guilt consume me, I've still bounced back and stayed in treatment and fighting it, for myself no one else not for recognition, just saying bit because I am still seen for the label outside of my treatment clinic thats part of the process I understand but as a functioning addict as I was in active addiction, I feel all this time later it's unfair judgment now, I am not that person anymore and am changing daily, it's even harder to change at all let alone daily, rebuilding yourself for the half dozenth time in less than 6 years it's unbelievable. These videos keep me strong when I feel weak and or get triggered for whatever reason if any at all. I tend not to watch too much though because I don't want to trigger myself. Like they say too much of a good thing can b bad yadayada so I'm trying to comment and share when I do watch and can and have something to say. Due to the fact that im a horrible introvert with the smallest support system and no real friends plus I just been able to walk again this last year(less than), so anyone who did stick around thru my choice of getting sober when I DID FINALLY find help after searching DESPERATELY for years for something I could both afford AND my insurance would ACCEPT long term, it was a true BLESSING,close to getting a second chance at life or so in fact. ANYONE left lingering as an acquaintance or friend eventually fell off too when I couldn't walk anymore for a long long time. Physical therapy was near the beginning of my road to recovery and disability so I haven't had much of any social life since. The people that do miss me are just saying that or toxic for me or both. So this is a way for me to stay active in some sense in my journey of recovery because I already know I'm lacking in some areas but it's not worth the risk of having the wrong people around so I make due, it's lonely and I missed counseling this week because she was out of office unexpectedly so I was bummed actually lol I was ACTUALLY the only one who was because it seems when I want to do things that it just isn't ever the right time. These videos hit home for me because none of these people planned to be where they are or to become how they are I'm sure just as I didn't when I was at my worst. As long as more people like this Interviewer & all involved are around & willing to be understanding as himself(urself) maybe we can finally start to combat this epidemic because it's tragic and EVERYWHERE & every little bit helps, & until more people stand up to support with kind was and educate theorselves about addiction for those they love most of all, you'd think that they would first and foremost have no problem with that ,I find it sad that so many do not bother to even try& believe they already know how it goes and or all about it when that's farthest from the truth for most people, even myself a recovering addict am STILL learning more each &everyday. I could already easily become a substance abuse counselor with my education on it but am far from ready or prepared to pass those classes for I even know there is always more to learn, even as a counselor I hope to some day become. Two friends from last winter have both died within less than 3 mo that and they weren't even opiate users and one had adopted my dog and I have no way of finding anything out due to my isolation for my best interest at heart, and it's painful feeling as if I've done something wrong along the way , it really does require a certain degree of selfishness and I hate it at times like these. Least these people are still alive and kicking and sharing their story to the best of their abilities, hopefullly these interviews make an impact on the lives in need of it whether it's those listening OR sharing. So thanks SO MUCH much for ALL involved in this channel & helping to make this happen.

This woman seems to have a grasp on how her presence can be damaging for her younger children, and really, do y'all think they'd be better off living with her? Just get off your moral high horse and worry about doing the best you can without talking shit about those who are genuinely incapable due to emotional issues or mental illness.

It's heart-breaking how many women fall into this destructive spiral, when they could have been so much more, if circumstances were just slightly different. I really really hope she finds a way out, before it's too late.

I feel like her photo didn't capture her beauty. She looks so much better than the photo portrayed. But I do appreciate the realness of if.
