Rush Hour is pretty cool, but (at least to me) Distortion is by far the best record store in Amsterdam. It's a fucking gold mine, there's records everywhere and you could easily dig for _days_ in there.

Trouw was awesome, you could go there every weekend even without knowing who was playing. Because Trouw had always the best DJ's and acts coming.

Laura González but you should come during festival season. We mainly have amazing festivals (Dekmantel - one of the very best in the world, Lentekabinet, DGTL, Woodstock Bloemendaal, Wildeburg, ZeeZout, Into the Woods and Draaimolen to name a few).

I live in Amsterdam and although it's a great city for night life culture I think this documentary does "overhype" it quite a lot.

Plamen2007 I am an Amsterdammer and totaly agree with you. Amsterdam nightlife is great, and yes there's a lot of things happening, but nothing that special. The love for our city, can make us feel arrogant at times, but we really should not. Amsterdam has its unique characteristics just like every other city.

Dutch are at number 3 with the most happy people in the world. America is like number 15 and the Dutch are the tallest people in the world
