It will work this way as you have shown but if I may explain how polywatch works it will save you money as you will use about a quarter of the amount you have used in this instance. So polywatch is not an abrasive polish. It is a chemical compound that works with the heat caused by friction from rubbing to very slightly melt the plastic and in doing so move it around on a molecular level to fill in the scratches. It is best to apply it with a wadded up piece of Kleenex so that it forms a tight pea sized ball. Put about a red lentil sized amount of polywatch on the crystal and gently but with some pressure the crystal. You reach a point where you can feel warmth and a slight drag. This is the point where the product starts to work at its most efficient as is very slightly moving the plastic around. At this point keep checking by buffing with a soft microfiber cloth, if there are still scratches keep going but do not apply more product as there will still be enough on the Kleenex. Once done give a final buff with a microfiber cloth and you will notice far more depth of clarity to the crystal than in the way you show how to do it here. My knowledge of this comes directly from polywatch as I asked them many years ago how to use their product and this was how they told me it works the best.
