In this video, am using my new toy...the DJI Osmo Pocket. I used it to record some time lapse footage of setting the crane up and setting a modular house on a basement.

You can get a mavic mini. I dont think that requires a part 107 license. But the license is just a written test. It takes about 20 hours of studying

Hey there Andrew! Good to see you here. From what I have read, if any drone footage is being used in a situation where money is involved, a 107 license is required. But the mini is light enough that it doesn't have to be registered with the FAA. I'll study up on it more.

It’s available online, and there are practice tests, those were helpful to me. Even good info on KZfaq.

Just say you hired someone to fly the drone with the qualifications. Also dji matrix mini doesn’t matter faa regs as a drone so just use that. My buddy just gone one and we played with it. Took it to the max ceiling at 1640ft. Doesn’t like wind but works great.

I am thinking about advising a client of mine to use the DJI Osmo Action too to record timelapse photos of his construction job (interior). Thanks for your video it is enlightening. I have some questions for you ? 1. How did you set up the recording ? Did you just installed the camera and leave it there or did you do specific thing with additional gear ? 2. Was you camera on the site in a single place all the time or did you took it back home to recharge each day ? 3. Any advice for a newbie in timelapse recording ? So far, I only have my Dji Osmo in the cart... Thanks a lot !

Good short video jimmy. How do you like the Pocket DJI? I have been thinking about getting one to replace my gimbal.

I like it. But.....I don't like it without some of the accessories. The wireless module, an action cam mount, and the thumb wheel are some of what I would consider essential. Also, when it's cold out, the battery life isn't that good. But, for my application, the Osmo pocket should prove very handy. Many thanks for watching! 🙂

Random question, what do you think about the 2007 Tadano atf65g? I’m looking at purchasing another crane, and wondering if Tadano has any years I should watch out for?

We have a 2007 80-4. It has been a fantastic machine. We also used to have an early 90's 150t (I don't remember the model). It was a good machine. However, parts were difficult to get. The 2007 Tadano ATF 65 should have good product support and should be a very solid machine. If I were in your position, I would call Tadano and ask them the availability of parts and support. I'm sure you'll find that it is still very well supported. But, doesn't hurt to check. Many thanks for watching! 🙂

It is a Tadano 180g-5. 200 ton capacity.

Nice :-) Are you remote controlling it from the crane via phone? We got a quick set up video of crane there, nice.. Could it be slowed to show setup better?

I can control it remotely. I actually did slow the footage down. It is 50% speed from what it was originally. It turned 25 minutes worth of work into a 16 second clip. 😳. So, I need to mess with the settings and learn how to actually use it. Many thanks for watching! 🙂
