I actually think Brio was far more intimidating and charismatic then Cortex in this game...

You know times like this I miss when game manuals gave full descriptions of all the aspects of the game including characters. In the first Crash manual N. Brio was the real mastermind of the Evolv-o-Ray, and when this music kicked in and the thunder struck I knew why. 0_o

Maurice LaMarche did an amazing job voicing N.Brio in Mind Over Mutant I reckon. And I love how he broke the 4th wall by saying. "I WAS IN THE FIRST GAME!!!"

*Yes, it is I, N. Brio! Hmm. My name sounds like a fetus. I invented the Evolvo-Ray! And various mutagenetic techniques still used by that treacherous Cortex today! I... was in... the first... GAAAAAME!!!*

N.Brio needs WAYY more attetion.

My personal take on the whole "the old sound better" dilema is that its more than just nostalgia. I discovered this track as a teenager, I had never played the first CB game, and I still loved it. My problem with the remakes music (not only for Crash, but for basically any remade soundtrack of these last years) is that they all sound like an orchestra. Its like the contrast between over and undertones and the weird instruments and soundfonts are gone. The new ones sound way too... regular, if that makes any sense. They are overclogged with a lot of instruments and in the end they all sound the same. (On a side note they actually changed Cortex main tune on the new one and to me, someone that used to hear that track to sleep as a kid, it sounds so wrong, as if someone played the wrong note on a piano on the climax of that song xDDD) Its just my opinion tho.

Is it me or do soundtrack from games from like the early PlayStation sound better then most modern day soundtracks? they're very memorable. Back when a lot more work was put into soundtracks.

i remember when he drank the potion and right before he turned into the hulk, he was normal yet turned green and that used to scare me a bit as a kid for whatever reason.

Best glitch ever. EDIT: It would be awesome if this glitch made it into the remake as an Easter Egg. It probably won't happen but I am gonna check anyway.

Brio could've replaced Penta as the secret unfinished racers, but Tiny's a better choice than Koala IMO and the Bandicoot pets are the Yoshi's of this series so they stay. Plus Rilla Roo wasn't introduced until Crash Bash.

i wa four when he transformd into hulk. I. WAS. TERRIFIED. That and CB1 music proves it provides a scarier, creepier atmosphere compare CB1 and MoM. If yu didn't know the title, you would NEVER guess they are the same franchise of games

You know I’m surprised the game didn’t emphasize that he was the second in command to Cortex in his own boss fight like the later sequels often did for N-Gin. This is especially noticeable in Crash 2 where that crazy engineer is one of the only 2 bosses that talk to you with dialogue. I imagine Brios’ dialogue sounding like this: [Crash appears in N. Brio’s Lab which gets Brio startled] Brio: So, you’ve come back have you little bandicoot? That’s fine, you’ve arrived just in time for your new experiment. (laughs hysterically) [Fight starts] Oh well, boss dialogue or not, this theme is still awesome.

When I first encountered the monster Brio as a kid, I threw my controller against the screen and ran away screaming.

Yeah, but that's only because Brio used to be Cortex's sidekick until Brio got sick of having the credit for his inventions stolen by Cortex. That's why Brio switches sides and helps you in Crash 2.

I know somting that will scare you when you fight this boss. When he is drinkin that potion and becomes the green monster jump on his head two times, on the last dont jump on his head just stand on those rocks and let him run in to you just make sure you have a mask for this and then you see what i mean. I dont know if this is a glitch on my cd or those it work on others cd but i want to see if anyone of you have experience this.

@LaughTrack55 i respect your opinion. while i found his dialogue funny, the line that REALLY made me make a sound was "i invented slinkies, STOP PLAYING WITH THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE MINE!!!!" the thing i hated the most about that game is when they made the last 2 cutscenes parodies of Dragonball Z, my... eyes... were bleeding!!

i like the ''Oooooo waaa wooo waaa.. ooooo waaa...'' spooky background sound effects :) The theme wouldn't be the same without it

To me, the best boss battle in the Crash Bandicoot series! Too bad the next time he's a boss iz in Twinsanity and kinda a boss in Mind Over Mutant.
