The only thing that bothers me isn’t even the attacks. It’s the fact that the brigantine doesn’t taper
@gotzvonunentberlichingen14523 жыл бұрын
This is Buhurt. This is about smacking people in the head really hard not about actual historical combat. A tapered brigantine would allow for way, way, way, way, waywayway better agility and provide more comfort but it wouldn’t quite protect you as much as this big boy version.
@eastonthealbanian78953 жыл бұрын
@@gotzvonunentberlichingen1452 Well, I didn’t know that, but I was mainly referring to how it looks rather than how it functions

Well, how did knights get killed in hand to hand combat then? (Not including the dagger in the face)
@medievallife87003 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry about this))). Millions different ways)
@tymurray66783 жыл бұрын
various methods existed. Daggers or other sharp and strong blades in between the plates of the armor (or to exposed areas like armpits and the rear of the knee which typically only had chainmail if anything at all. Otherwise it was a battle of beating the dude silly. This helm is strong but a full galloping lance to the head easily can knock a guy out (or just straight kill him tbh). Another method is just wearing him out until hes so tired that you just choke him to death or take off some part of his armor and stab in there. You don't go THROUGH a knights armor, you work around it. Unless you have a gun, those go through metal armor XD
@tymurray66783 жыл бұрын
On one last note certain bashing weapons such as maces and polearms could slowly work on denting and breaking the armor. Broken bones, internal bleeding, and more could kill a guy just as a sword to the gut can.
@BaronSterling3 жыл бұрын
Blunt weapons which can dent the armor and crush the body underneath, pick-like weapons such as bec de corbins which can punch through the armor, grappling, and exhaustion.

@@tymurray6678 English Civil War era heavy calvery armor would like to disagree with you. It was literally bullet proof, that is to say, shot by a large calvary pistol. They also where good for muskets, if at longer range.
