If he fixes that car it'll go three ways, it has a easy potential to be fixed, the car needs a lot of labor and could take a long time to be repaired, or it's completely gone and would need a lot of money put into it. Either way it can be done ofcourse, it truly depends on how much the owner cares about it getting back on the road. It can't get weaker with every repair if the person knows what there doing, It could be cut out, welded, bent back in place and reinforced.

It’s the only downside to us having so many JDM specials in NZ, they ended up in the wrong hands and were abused because they were so cheap. Someone painted you a glamorous picture of the rally Volvo's, they're not what you think, 7/9's weren't entered in Gr.A back in the day either, the AWD's took over just as the 7/9's came into service, so Volvo didn't even bother in any official capacity, I think Hovinga was the only one who ever bothered and that was in SCCA for a few years, not Gr.A. Another thing with those Volvo 24x rally cars is they mostly just kinda custom built them on an individual basis, no two were exactly the same, other than bucket seats, harness, some shitty dodgy wiring work, Sellholm/Ohlins suspension and maybe some choice catalogue items for shit like fuel tank, fuel surge system and fuel pumps etc, basically ebay, no catalogue items were used contrary to what you'd expect. And even the custom fabrication work was semi-winged and half-ass in terms of looks because the cars weren't expected to survive more than a season anyway. On a brief summary is most were just built according to FIA safety spec, boosted up with supporting mods according to power level, cage, Sellholm/Ohlins suspension, quick rack's and dogboxes which is way more than you can afford, and thrown onto the rally course right off the bat, NONE of them were anything special compared to custom builds today. To add to that, I think rotisserie wasn't even in their vocabulary, I'm half surprised they even used so much as a lift or jackstands building them, I've never seen an original rally specimen built to painstaking detail like you see on car shows today, they're not showroom pieces, they have dents all over under the skin because they were hammered for more clearance (wherever it was required) rather than whole new panels fabricated contrary to what you see on Project Binky and stuff like that. The welds are shitty looking too, and just over-all, the whole car was kinda hurried, not really optimally built (apart from the suspension and even that kinda sucked a little bit on many of them), and then they were thrown out onto the course. They literally did the bare minimum required by FIA. None/few received steering lock (different from quick rack) mods, the more angle a RWD rally car has through a corner the slower it goes through the whole track = Seldom do you find any rally car with lock mods unless it was shit from factory. And that's why you have to have knuckles shortened rather than buying them as catalogue items.
