Finally we got some decent rain! You know what that means?! Back to shark tooth hunting for my son and me. This is two days collecting, one cold, one warm, where we hit a couple of good ditches. Both of us scored some really nice finds - we got some gorgeous angustidens teeth, a great white, and even a megalodon. Watch the weezling extract the giant shark tooth with his finger from really cool looking formation, digging back the oxidized green outer clay to reveal a bright blue inner clay as he exposes the tooth.

@@blackriverfossils *I didn't ask you 'why.' it wasn't a question. lmao..It was only a comment young man..don't need to educate me*🗿*Your reply is inaccurate. Water is very seldom clearer in the winter. unless you are in mountainous regions. the water in the area where you are filming is most likely clearer because it is continuously running and sandy. sand itself acts as a rubbing compound which breaks up the minerals rubbing off the rocks. I'm not trolling but your reply is way off base. I hunt for fossils..I'm 60 and been hunting for over 50 yrs. You should be asking me questions. (❓) lmao. I hunt mainly Ammonites & Trilobites from the cretacious shallow seas of Texas & Oklahoma* Note: Anyone out there interested in buying Ammonites, Trilobites, Horse & Camel teeth, molars, verts, Mammoth bones, dactal bird (3)skulls etc.. hit me up at Nativetex54@gmail 📌

Looking to travel up in a few weeks for my sons vacation, any advice on decent places to go? Cheap little places to stay that are fun?
@blackriverfossils
@blackriverfossils 9 жыл бұрын
Trevor Aspinwall the only place i could recommend is dorchester creek aka sawmill branch creek that runs through summerville. you can't dig there but you can pick up shark teeth off the bottom. Also, you should not expect giant teeth to be just laying out for the taking. Lots of people go there so you will likely just find smaller ones. I don't really have a recommendation where to stay (coz I live here) but I know there are a lot of hotels around the area so that won't be an issue for you. If you are going on a fossil hunting vacation you would find more down on Venice Beach & Casperson Beach in Florida. With a little sifter rake that you can buy in the gift shops down there, you can find hundreds of teeth in a day right in the surf. Unless you are diving, you will not find hundreds of teeth in a day here. Thanks for watching my channel!

i have never hunted in colorado so I can't tell you for sure. i did some googling though and found out there are actually shark teeth there, so I learned something today. i have thousands of teeth in my collection - not sure exactly how many coz I haven't counted lol. most are very tiny though, so they don't take up much space.

My parents and I are going to Summerville next summer for vacation. My dad absolutely loves looking for shark teeth. My mom and I want to surprise him and take his to these places to look for them. Where in your opinion are the best creeks to look for them? My mom wants to know so we can plan. Is it free to get in there? And are there any crocs or poisonous snakes we should be worried about going off trail?

Kwynn Alge I feel bad you never got responded to... I would suggest saw mill Branch is you are going to Summerville, if you look along the walls of the creek (even if there is brush or sticks) you can find some big teeth... my first trip I found a 2 inch meg...you want to look about 2 feet up the wall if u want megs and about 1 foot if u want angistidents... please note that if you dig with a tool or your hands in Summerville you can get a fine so watch out for that.. happy hunting
