I'm really just loving your channel and videos as they are a reassurance as well as a mirror to many of my own improvised decisions to venture into the many casmz and endless rabbit holes I've found myself venturing into ever since my first artistic adventure involving natural stone. While lapidary is not the field I'd been delving into, it was a stones throw away from the many projects I was and would continue working on for the past several years. I have and still collect, cut, and even catch myself sanding/polishing hundreds of rocks I find interesting or curiously unfamiliar. So often it is just to get even more familiar with materials and learn directly about the different myriad of minerals and raw stone combinations that initially had me so hooked on them as a medium. Your practices and "primitive" approach is all too familiar and clearly the effectiveness has not (in my eyes) been severely compromised. I remain experimental and self learning in most of my stone working, and what I've seen from you and this great rookie rockhounding titled channel is by far the best and most comfortable source of knowledge that I have come to find hands down. Going to keep coming back for all the terrific content and enjoyable work that you've done here! Thanks again 🙏

My goodness thank you so very very much for your genuinely kind words my friend. I think one of the things I’ve loved most and will continue to value about the KZfaq experience so far, is being seen. Not just watched but it’s more like from comments like this, that I can tell someone has actually seen why I love doing what I love, but it’s the greatest praise because it’s from someone who knows the joy of being themselves in doing what they love. Sounds whimsical and gushy but from one creative brained person to another, thank you for seeing “me” 😊 God I hope that didn’t sound as conceded as I feel like it may have 😬🤦‍♂️😂 I think I meant it just feels good to freely be me and have others appreciate me being me haha

Hey Jessie! Saw this video where Pauly is teaching you how to do rock face polishing via his method. And using those D-pads also. Wow! I'm impressed what a person can do when they set their mind to it! It's rustic, inexpensive, it's cool, it's resourceful! And in today's world, anything that will keep a mate, or a Sheila from draining the retirement fund is in my book, is a clear WINNER! I'll have to remember this technique if I ever get the time to Pretend To Be Retired! Slab-on!

My husband and I just discovered your channel and LOVE how you cut and polish! I would love to send you some Arkansas stones to see what you would do with them. We were both born and raised within a reasonable driving distance to the only public access diamond mine (Murfreesboro, AR) in the US and have been multiple times. A lot of schools take kids there on field trips yearly. We now live in an area of the state that is not far from a great geod / crystal site where you can go and find really awsome treasures. I would be more than happy to box up a variety of native Arkansas treasure and mail over to you just to see how you work them out.

I love Aussies and the make-do attitude! Two different, cheaper ways to polish rocks than dedicated machines to do it. Well done! And the rocks are beautiful ... magnificent!

I ordered me some of those polishing pads. I hope mine turn out as good as yous guys. Those looked AMAZING! Thundereggs look sooo good! But, my favorite was the agate palmstone you made for your friend. Great job guys! Loved the idea of the rig Pauly made too! Thanks for sharing this great video Jesse! You guys rock! Cheers, my friend 😁👍

Oh man Fayde! That’s exciting mate! I reckon you’ll do just great, it takes patience through the stages, but most of all, the first one. And second I reckon. I recommend some good music or a good podcast in the headphones and polish away happily. Best of luck dude and let me know if you have ANY questions!

I purchased a used one as the piece is a bit pricey, but the machine kzfaq.infoUgkxG6fbm3cHBd7CNTjk5D-dwYe9c9tCB9ZN has surpassed my expectations. We sand small parts by hand often, sized around 1"x1/2," and specifically look for a piece that's designed to be vertical. The motor has plenty of torque and great speed settings. The only inconvenience I had is that the disk measures 5" where we trim 6" stick-and-sand disks down easily by mounting it then cutting with a box cutter.

Before I ever found this page I did the same thing with those polishing pads that go on hand sanders - I love turquoise and turquoise is very sensitive to heat and working without water can burn and damage the turquoise - I learned this the hard way 😅😅😅
