As a beginner I am so glad to see someone who just wants to print. I am a beginner in 3D modeling and printing. I have plenty to learn and don’t need a printer to tear apart and rebuilt on top of everything else at the moment. I’m looking to use 3D printing as a tool to improve my main hobby, not have it be my main hobby. I’ll be looking deeper into this channel and hopefully finding the footing I need.

I use the Prusaslicer with my K1. I figured out a way to get the side fan control using the custom g-code "after layer change". Here is the code I came up with and it works. M106 P2 S{(layer_num < 1 ? 0 : 204)} ; Side fan to 80% after layer 1 It will turn on the side fan after the first layer is printed. The 204 is the speed percentage (204/255) = 0.8 or 80%. Prusaslicer I think gives better results than the Creality slicer, but that might just be my opinion.

Well then, you have got to be a breath of fresh air. Most creators i come across in the 3D printing space are super into the tinkering and optimizing side of things, which, while i do enjoy pushing to get the absolute max out of an investment, most of the time i just cant be bothered and i just want to use the printer as it is. i think you are the first creator ive found that actually shares that sentiment to focus on the goal rather than the journey.

I bought an early K1 and I love it, like you I am a print and go man. I have left behind all that tinkering and can now just slice and send to printer via my computer. I agree about the app and have never even tried it. Luckily as an early buyer I was able to take advantage of Crealitys goodwill gesture for the early problems and got a Camera, Hotend and Extruder replacement as well as a roll of Hyper pla for the princely sum of $2 with free delivery. Well done Creality and keep up the great work Ross😂

I'm on the other end, I took possession of my K1 Max V2 ( So called by some) on Monday. It has the better hotend and a few other little bits come with it. So I have to say, well done Creality, a mile better than my Ender 5 Pro, that has just about everything that can be done to it, yet doesn't come close. Yes, that app is painful, and the cloud transfer doesn't print all my model, it's at 100% about 2/3rds the way through the pri t and just stops, wasting so much filament. What am I doing wrong? Or is it them losing a third of my data in the cloud transfer??? I will let you know when the support team get back to me. Good video, I must say 👍🏻

It’s even simpler. Some people want a kitchen and some want a microwave. I want a device that just works with little maintenance. Others want the flexibility to change and tweak everything. We’re closer to the microwave than ever but the cost for those is climbing.

The comparison doesn't really work because a microwave has very few parts that can wear out. You only have to clean the inside from time to time, but that is more for hygiene than to keep it working. Microwaves are also dirt cheap. You can get them for as little as $50, so it's not worth repairing the microwave. 3D printers, on the other hand, have many moving parts that wear out over time. Not only is regular maintenance important, but you will need to replace parts from time to time. And you should have at least a basic understanding of how a 3D printer works to be able to perform such a repair.
@FauxHammer
@FauxHammer 8 ай бұрын
@@andreas.grundler That was True about computers initially too. Microwaves are now cheap but when they came out they cost hundreds and were in just a few homes. When they broke, it would be worth repairing them instead of replacing them. so the only people who understood how microwaves and the electronic and mechanical parts were service technicians and repair engineers. 3d Printers are going that way. Removable nozzles and hot end components are being built in to them to make the hardest maintenance more like swapping a cartridge in a 2d printer. Even greasing the lead screws can be removed by using ball screws for far less wear. It;s a good analogy, we just aren't in the same place with Microwaves as we are with printers.

I'm new to printing. I started with an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max. Then I bought a Creality K1. I love my K1 and the app. Maybe it's because I'm 49 years old and new to making, but I love it. And Creality's slicer has helped me to learn slicing overall so when I use Prusa or Orca, I don't feel stupid like I did before. I use my K1 daily. I've enjoyed it so much that I bought a second K1 as well as a K1-MAX. I guess for a seasoned maker and a maker who has the expensive Bambu Lab X1C, I can see why they might not like such a budget friendly enclosed Core XY printer. At under $550 normally, and even less on sales, I'm extremely happy. I wish I never bought the Neptune so I could justify another K1. Thanks for your review.

First time watcher - definitely subscribed. I COULD tweak the hardware - I've been doing IT professionally for over 20 years. But I have ZERO desire to. I just want something that "works". I'm glad you're getting into the non-resin printers, and I picked this up on Christmas sale and LOVE the K1. Am surprised I haven't heard more about it. I also got the camera and LOVE IT. I don't use the phone app at all. But, I basically unpacked it, had essentially no experience with 3D printing (but lots of video watching) and was printing successfully after about 30 minutes. I moved the K1 into another room (b/c it was LOUD) and was able to print off about 10 or 12 walls for DnD landscape just back to back to back. Was a pure joy to use! I hope Creality sees more success with it. They even had a video that showed how to get your first print going (with "one click print" button) which worked great, and is what I use now. Love this printer! And very much enjoyed the video~

I see lots of polar opposite reviews of the K1. Nearly every KZfaq video says it's great. And that's likely because they make sure to ship properly QC'ed printers to influencers unless they do it anonymously. But if you read through any forum/reddit it's littered with people like me who've had nothing but headaches from their K1 from the start that even profuse 'tinkering' or following their Creality's support videos will not solve. The biggest issue with them is their quality control. It would print well...IF they assembled it properly from the factory (which in my case they absolutely did not). And their support is horrendously slow. Then when they do send you parts, they are the wrong parts. I'm glad you had a good experience with your K1, but a word of warning to viewers is that you've likely got a 1/3 chance of having a full fledged lemon until they get their QC straight - if they ever do.

A great video on the K1 that sums up my own attitude to 3D printing. I have been involved since the Rep Rap days and it has been a fascinating journey. But nothing has been such a huge shift as what we are seeing right now, the virtual flood of Core XY machines that are the closest to being an Appliance than ever before (certainly at the Hobbyist end of the scale). This should certainly enable more creatives into FDM 3D printing. That has to be a good thing.

Thank you for excellent review from the viewpoint of someone who just wants printer to print. For me, opensource part is actually a really important part and probably why I won't buy Bamboolabs printer. There have been many companies that tried to build their own proprietary printer, went out of business, and now those printers are essentially paperweights because they can't be maintained. Opensource basically means that a year later this printer will still work, can be repaired using oem or 3rd party parts for reaonable price, will still accept fillament from any company and not just from creality, and they won't create some stupid subscription program. Oh, and that also means that if you don't like their mobile app or software then you can replace it with something better (and there are a better alternatives). Not many people care about opensource, but they should imho. 3d printers improved tremendously thanks for the companies who made their designs available to opensource community (prusa, creality, etc.) and its actually sad that companies like bamboolabs now use these technologies to create their own product, add their own touch to it and make it proprietary.

I bought this as my first ever 3d printer as a pre-sale and I've had to sit through bedslinger fanboy reviews ad nauseum saying it's pure shit and scratching my head the entire time. It is definitely NOT shit, In fact I call it my Star trek replicator it's so freaking good. your review nails it as far as future relevance for additive manufacturing, It is practically an out of the box appliance, and like you I personally don't want to tinker I just want to print, and that fact will resonate with creatives and newbies alike who want to print cool shit just like I do. Most KZfaq channels don't recognise this and I think they need to hang it up, the hobby just passed them by. I don't want to argue with another channel owner who waxes nostalgically about the "pure" hobby and who think crappy 100 dollar bed slingers have any type of future anymore and just don't get what the fuss is about. It's about speed, man! Speed and accuracy in a vastly more capable platform too! Watch all the naysayers who in the past dumped on this printer go by the wayside, face it, bro you truly don't get it anymore.

I’m trying to make the best of it, but I’m not happy with my K1. I just got it this month and the test runs with sample filament in the box went AMAZING. but as soon as that filament ran out, it’s been nightmares. Constant clogging, bad extruding, stringy pieces sticking to the nozzle and causing chaos. I’m trying to stay level and work through solutions but it’s ridiculous. The other filament I’m using is brand new and Creality branded filament.

The reason you, and other potential buyers, should care about open source, is because those that do want to tinker and make improvements to the printer and its features can do so, and you will also benefit from those improvements they make as they get integrated. This means K1 owners aren't at the mercy of Creality to fix bugs or add new features when they inevitably forget all about it and drop support for the K1 when the next hot product generation comes out.

So I know if someone wants smooth surface quality, then they should to SLA printers that do a good job at minis, but when it comes to Fused Filiment such as this, layer lines are just part of the process. Sanding and filling doesn't look like much of an option for that Venom shell for the spidey head, so I was wonder, instead of smoothening the print, what are some good techniques to completely hide the layer lines visually? Is there a paint or certain colour filament that will make them hardly noticeable while being looked at on a shelf?

I'm in the world as a new 3d printer , I want to "Tinker" only if I want to instead of being forced too. I believe all the leg work should be done by the company not the end user. Between working full time and family , when I have time , I don't want to have to rebuild my printer to make it make stuff. I'm amazed by those that can rebuild, reprogram and redesign their printers , but thats not me. I want to make stuff , make videos for KZfaq and spend my other time say learning 3d modeling.

hello can you help me decide? I do not own printer in this moment, I'm crafter-man, mostly i would like to print for me and my kids, figures, toys, inserts for Boardgames (here i would like to have possibility print logos in color), boxes, wall organizers, utilities, enhancers etc. What Im thinking about: 1. Bambu lab A1 with AMS (499 EURO) ++++ price + multicolor - missing enclosure/ not build well for DIY enclosure 2. Bambu lab P1S (AMS later but price of AMS itself is huge in comparisons P1S combo) (600 Euro or 850 Euro with AMS +- price + enclosure, cooling, air filters + AMS with closed environment and protections from humidity - price of AMS if is not in combo purchase Price difference between P1P and P1S is to small (40 EURO), to miss inbuild cooling system and air filter already builded 3. Creality K1 MAX AI (634 EURO) ++ price + enclosure +++ volume --- no chance of multicolor (at the moment, later price of CMS? Price of upgrade for CMS? Maybe to much…) 4. Prusa MK4 kit + MMU3 kit (unfortunally price is to high for me at the moment) What I do not like on AMS (CMS as well) is amount of waste. To be honest approach of MMU3 from Prusa is much better, would like have possibility use it on bambu or creality printer... This is for me big deal breaker, and reason why I hesitate. It is not so big to say "ok go for K1 or P1S without AMS" and it is not so small, to say "Ok go for A1 or P1S with AMS" Any recommendation which one buy? And why, considering the points I mentioned? is it worth build enclosure for A1? is it worth build own enclosure for P1P? is it worth AMS or is only "hype"? Is PVA good for supports? is PVA safe for environment (no microplastic fibers getting into ground/water)? I will be glad for any suggestion. Thank you

@@Beehive66 I'm trying. I'm just saying, I didn't come out of the gate with BDE going, I know how to get clicks on video and turn this into a job. This started as a side effort to my blog, then as I steadily implemented the teachings of more successful channels it grew and I hated myself that little bit more each time. But I justify it now as. Why have a good video nobody will watch, instead of having a good video everyone will watch. All my videos could be 5 minutes long. but without justification and reasoning for every point. why shoudl anyone believe me. the worst ones are the negative reviews. Creality;s Mage S video which will be finished today is 30 minutes long becasue I say so much bad about it that i need to justify every point then justify my conclusion. And as I say in that video, that is worse for me. It takes longer to film, longer to edit, longer to consider so it costs more money to make. For a video that will actually not even earn me anything because after watching it, nobody will buy that printer! oh, and I actually had to buy that printer too! But I do it because its the right thing to do for the community. that's what helpos me justify my mild soul-selling to the KZfaq Algorythm. and lets be fair, compared to many out there. this is pretty tame

I do care about the specs, but again there are different needs for different people. What I care about, this does and it does well. But when it comes to what others want to know for the sake of can I tweak this and add this code and can I swap to that hot end and all that jazz. No, not bothered. And those of us who want to focus on making prints to make cool things. We’re allowed reviewers too. I appreciate that traditional FDM printing was more involved. But that’s just not my channel. Those who want what I want from a printer will appreciate this. But it’s not intended for everybody
