Creamy Baked Macaroni And Cheese Recipe
1 pound elbow pasta
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 cup whole milk
2 1/2 cups half-and-half
4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 16 oz block
2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese 8 oz block
2 cups Gouda cheese 8 oz block
hot sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tsp 5-Star All-Purpose Chicken Seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon (for cheese sauce)
2 tbsp chicken bouillon (for pasta water)
Preheat oven to 350F
Add bouillon and pasta to boiling water.
Cook until al dente.
Cheese sauce
Add butter, allow to melt before sprinkling small amounts of flour and whisk out any lumps for about 1 minute.
Add 1/2 and 1/2 then whole milk and combine.
Add the seasonings and combine. (salt, black pepper, 5 star all purpose seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, smoked paprika, bouillon)
Add a few drops of hot sauce.
Add 1/2 of the 3 cheeses and combine.
Add the drained pasta, and combine.
Top with reserved cheeses and bake for about 20 minutes until bubbly and brown.
If you prefer crispier edges broil for about 5 minutes.
