I've watched dozens of mac and cheese recipes and this is the first one that I think I'm going to like just by looking at the finished product. After it's baked we can see it's creamy, but firm, no some stringy greasy soupy mess. THIS one looks good.

Tanny just want to thank you so much for this longer video. In a world of boxed Mac & cheese type recipes, many of us needed this so badly. We remember the look, the texture and how it had a degree of stiffness to it. We knew our moms and grannies made it this way and they knew nothing about no rue lol!.

👏🏼👏🏼💯💯 this is how I was taught (with a few adjustments)by THE BEST OLD SCHOOL REAL southern chefs (named mamma) lol Even people who don't like baked mac n cheese LOOOOVE my mac! I can make 6 pans and it's ALWAYS the 1st thing to run out!! TRUST this is it (and easy)!!!!

I made this for Easter, and it was probably the best macaroni & cheese we ever had. Thank you for providing this recipe. I have some leftover because there were only 3 of us. Will be great the next couple of days! I used whole milk instead of cream. It turned out exactly like the video. All other mac & cheese will never live up to this.

It freezes so well too. I cut my leftovers in squares and freeze them individually wrapped so I can take out a piece whenever!

my mother didn't make a roux or cheese sauce either. She would cut the cheese into cubes, add it to the elbows and mix in evaporated milk

This reminds me so much of how my grandad used to make his! I add a bit of Italian Seasoning, onion powder, salt, pepper. The key to his was he would over season his milk a bit because when you add the eggs and pasta, the seasoning/salt will be reduced.

Girl! This looks so good! I love the consistency. I love the balance between the moisture cheese and egg. This is what I’m used to at my thanksgivings with my family. It was hard to find this kind of southern mac & cheese. But you did the thing! I’m just about to put my version in the oven. I did add flake salmon and chopped up broccoli to kick up the nutrition for mine. I’m not sure what’s gonna happen but it’s a dish that one can keep trying until they get it just the way they want it. Thank you for this video.❤🎉

I like fluffy Mac and cheese. I do mine similar, only I season my noodles with paprika, pepper, Mrs. Dash herb seasoning, and a little bit of Adobo. 😋
