Very cool, didn't know about that feature in Blender. I'd be interested in seeing how you motion-tracked the camera movements as well, like how you chose the spots you did to be your tracking points, and any other similar things for setting up the scene. Great video, looking forward to more

i think you should make a live action course where you blend 3d enviourment....it will sell in blender market for sure ..... i think you are best in blender compositing and blending 3d 🤩

Does any one know how to make the mask only mask some objects but not others. like if I had a table and coffee in a scene and put those behind a hold out, I want only the coffee to be visible

2:40 How did you get the 3d elements to match the real thing? For the pillar, for example, how did you ensure that the 3d version followed the real pillar?

I forgot to enable it in one of my viewers, I spent a good amount of time masking it manually in fusion lol, I could've get it done easily in blender, but I was scared of open the blend file again so my poor laptop won't explode.

Absolutely. You can make holdouts for specific objects as well in its object properties tab.

I kinda knew about Holdout but never saw it useful, but this one is inspirational! There`s also a Holdout node but i don`t seem to get it work instantly.

But what is visible is original footage, right? Plane doesn't affect it?

Correct, the plane with the holdout will only affect the geo in the scene. It won't touch the live action footage, this is very useful for adding 3D elements (eg. fire) to live action (eg. car)
