Thanks for your video. Can you help explain some of the features. It is hard to know what each of the features do meaning to get an after effects style gradient blur is extremely hard not least a) rendering needs to happen sometimes in the compositor as it often doesnt work in real time, b) the settings are not obvious to know what they do. If you use the view node to get z depth data but you are trying to composite a plane with an object on it and you want the background of the plane blurred in a graduated way - do you need to have blender give z depth data for the plane? Your viewer shows the far away bats are a different colour but I don't have that option in blender making me wonder if the z depth data of the plane is being used. c) then just using the color ramp doesnt give a graduated blur map because the linear options and b-spline options don't really give a nice graduated depth of field from in focus to out of focus.

Finding how to view the zdepth and save it procedurally without manually fixing it in photoshop ecc. You are the man
