If you can't get the object to change when you turn the displacement setting to "Displacement and Bump". He did not mention vocally you have to be in the "Rendered" viewport shading. Hold Z or change it in the top right. (Don't forget to be on Cycles) 3.3.0 Blender the nodes are different. In the material shader have "Voronoi Texture Node" distance plugged into the "Displacement Node" height. Plug that into the "Material Output's" Displacement. You can then change the scale on the Voronoi like shown on the video!

@@TheMarkofZio I don't want to say other styles are bad. Every person has its own way of learning. For instance, I prefer short tutorials that only explain a few things, leaving the viewer to experiment. Some people like tutors that take their time to explain everything in-depth, there's nothing bad about it. I should have worded my statement better. It is just how I feel after all
@muuubiee
@muuubiee 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheMarkofZio Not learning blender, just watching. There are huge issues with tutorials. Slow pace, unnecessary words. I have a literature book I'm going through, which by definition should have good text... But it's horribly inefficiently written, and never gets to the point. What takes them 20 lines could be written with as much, if not more, information in 4 lines. This is one of the biggest problems in teachings, the other is that they usually don't teach you important things, or "building blocks".

Awesome tutorial. If anyone is curious about the "Switch type to" function performed in the node editor at 1:39 " Switching nodes from one to another is extra functionality possible with the Node Wrangler addon. It's included with the official version of Blender but it's not enabled out of the box. Go to User Preferences > Addons and search "node wrangler". Enable it. Then in the Node Editor, with a node selected, you can switch with SHIFT + S."
