Today I’m sharing a very luxurious bath bomb that has 16 beneficial ingredients with 3 skin-loving layers; a pink nourishing layer, a green anti-aging & antioxidant-rich layer, & a white moisturizing & hydrating layer. Fill the top with decorative & beneficial ingredients. After the bomb dissolves, sit back & soak in the revitalizing water.
RECIPE: 2 Cups baking soda, 1 Cup citric acid, ½ Cup titanium dioxide (makes the water opaque). Divide dry mix into 3 separate batches. Add 4 different skin-loving ingredients to each batch. Each ingredient will be measured in a 1/8 cup (total of ½ cup additional ingredients added to each batch). WET (for each batch): 1 teaspoon fragrance oil, 1 teaspoon polysorbate 80, 2 teaspoons oil or melted butter (I used vitamin E oil). Add dry ingredients to each batch & mix thoroughly. ** You can use coloring to enhance the batches (I added a small amount of color powder to pink & green batches). Make sure batch is well sieved & mixed. Mix wet ingredients for each, add to batch, then mix thoroughly. Mix should form a solid shape when squeezed. MOLDING: Add mix, lightly pack, & add salt to edges. Add next color to the top, pack it down, then add loose mix on top. Repeat for other side. ** Make sure colors on top match (this will be middle layer). Smoosh together then tap to release the bomb. Unmold the bottom first, flip it over, then the top. *** The tops are extremely fragile, even after the initial drying period of 24 hours so be careful. I left my bombs on the counter over night (no holder mold or anything). Dry for 24 hours. Fill bowls. TIP: You don’t have to buy everything to make a luxurious bath bomb at home. A few beneficial ingredients used in higher quantities will work great, too.
