On August 18, 2021, the National Network to Eliminate Disparities in Behavioral Health (NNED) National Facilitation Center and SAMHSA's Office of Behavioral Health Equity hosted this virtual roundtable, in partnership with SAMHSA's Mental Health Technology Transfer Center Network Coordinating Office.
This NNED Virtual Roundtable is Part 3 in a 3-part series on Community-Based Organizations Build Pathways to Behavioral Health Equity for Communities of Color. During Part 3, panelists share about their programs/trainings which support racially/ethnically diverse young people to enter the behavioral health field. Panelists also discuss strategies community-based organizations can use to motivate diverse individuals to consider this career path and how to continually support their professional journeys.
A special thank you to the panelists Fred Sandoval, MPA; Leonissa Johnson, PhD; and Michael Awad, PhD for sharing their experiences during the virtual roundtable and for the important work they're doing to support more diverse individuals enter the behavioral health workforce.
