Creating Pop Art Portraits in Photoshop

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create the Pop Art effect in Photoshop. We’ll be recreating the Andy Warhol screen print style using photoshop and portraits. I’ll also show you how to easily duplicate the effect to create several different coloured versions of the same picture. We’ll be covering the following Photoshop techniques: Using quick masks, layer blending modes, using layers to change colours, adding colour overlays, loading images as a stack and much more!

I like it, I'm used to using Hue/Saturation to do this but this gives much more freedom with the colour choice and vibrance. Cheers.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! Love it. Question. I was having no issues until I tried to make other color versions. I am using CS5 and it was changing colors in the Layer Style box, but now it gives me no option to change the color like I see in your Photoshop Overlay Color options. Do I have something setting that prevents the options? Thanks!

Nice. But your mask selection using a brush, or eraser, is cringy. At least use the pen tool to click points along the outside edge for a *much* cleaner subject edge separation from the original background. If the edge is too harsh it can be softened with a blur tool set at about 20%, as when replacing a natural background more realistically. PS has a number of other techniques for isolating a subject from the background. Brushing is probably the most time consuming of all of theml Trust me, I've wasted hundreds of hours a year doing the same thing! Of course, the newest version is going to have the fastest options. It is even down to one click as of now - allegedly. Otherwise, great results! Thanks!
