Creating "Preppy" Pressed Flower Art Piece

Grow the flowers, weed the beds, pick the best and press them, change paper a lot, store the flowers until completely dry, plan the layout, then create the picture---if anyone questions the final cost of these and other pressers' work, they need to watch Keith's painstaking precision and artistic talent to see why they are worth the price! I have heard comments that "it's just sticking some flowers in a book and then gluing them down, right?" Oh, my, NO!

You are educated on the process. It’s true many still think of the method of plop in a book, wave your hands around with a wand, and poof, magic. One of the reasons this channel will exist to show how much time it actually takes to help create a more realistic visual in everyone’s mind. Appreciate you being an advocate. 🙂🙂🙂

Wonderful! How long does it take to create one floral piece of art?

It really depends. Our farm to print series that we are releasing next month took around 10 months. We have to collect all during the season and usually in Winter is when we create the pieces. The actual creating part takes about a month (I don’t design for 8 hours a day though). Breaks are needed as my neck needs a break but also my eyes need to step back. I sometimes get stuck in an area and I’ll need to step away for a day. So it all depends really on the piece.

It looks sometimes as if you move a preglued flower to meet the edge of the measure square . I'm guessing that is a misperception ....you glue after measuring edge border etc I O

Hey hey. Correct. I always measure then glue. Also I do mock positions all over the place before gluing. It’s about 35 -40 hours edited to the 11 minutes so lots is still missed but yeah. Gluing is always the last step 🙂🙂
