Funny, I also made Bomb-Omb Battlefield on my channel, last year. I like how you stayed true to the games more angular, polygonal look, where as I went for smoother look. Yours stays more true the the game. Just goes to show how interesting it can be seeing different interpretations of an art piece. Great job as always!

8:13 this is a common trick used in a lot of older video games to save on polygons it’s basically a image that follows the camera this trick is still sometimes used today to render foliage like grass

Just Cause 3 and 4 use it with trees. The tree itself stays where it is but the leaves follow you!

If there's one thing I've learned in my own endeavours of late. It's that it is incredibly difficult to render an optically accurate 3d image from what are, essentially, 2d examples. Your skill and patience, even on a 'polygonal' project, is impressive. Nice job.👍🙂

Sorry to hear you having a tough time this year. Life is full of awful things, so it’s important to fill it with as many happy things as you can to balance it out and make it all worthwhile. Hey ClayClaim, I have a #question for you: where/how do you store your clay? I’ve been trying to make some clay creations myself, but I always have to blast the clay with a hairdryer for like a minute to get it malleable enough to use; in these videos, though, your clay seems to be soft and usable the moment you open the package. Do you have any tips for this? Thanks, and awesome creation; gotta love Bob-omb Battlefield!
@Mblastr
@Mblastr 2 жыл бұрын
I know this question is not directed for me, but I usually keep my clay in a cupboard in the package. So far my clay has always been malleable from the package. You should try to keep it away from heat or sunlight, that can mess it up. It might also be the brand. I use the clay from his website.
@tylorian5168
@tylorian5168 2 жыл бұрын
@@Mblastr Hey, I appreciate the response either way 👍. I myself use FIMO clay, and keep it either in its package or in a sealed little plastic bag inside of a container that sits on a shelf (which shouldn’t be too hot or too cold). I wonder if maybe I just bought a lot of old clay that was sitting on the store shelves too long 😖

Here is a little handy tip for a bodge-job repair for a small knife like that (used to happen to me while messing with warhammer lol). glue a bit of metal on each side of the blade, small bit to give it a brace, then cut up some GAFFA tape or DUCT tape (strong fabric material stuff) and wrap a few bits around it tight, helps cutting it into inch strips. It won't last forever, but it will last to you can get yourself a new one and won't wobble around lol.

*Fun fact:* Trees in Super Mario 64 are actually 2D sprites set to always face to the camera. That's why they are spinning around when you move the camera around them. Also, trees aren't the only 2D sprites that are always facing to the camera. Bob-ombs, bullies and bowling balls are too, same with coins, bubbles, and red numbers that appear whenever you collect a red coin. These things aren't 3D models or something.
