Creating Water with Woodland Scenics E-Z Water

In this video I'll go through the process of adding a water scene to the Station Road layout, in other words, the completion of the hillside reservoir. This includes the preparation of the scene and building up of scenic foliage prior to using the Woodland Scenics E-Z Water.

Me and my dad went through his old 220 scale railroad models and stuff. And I found one of those bags with the water effect in them. Thank you for the help by making this video!

thank you very much for the demo! I was wondering what was the glue you used to glue the tufts and driftwood at the bottom of the riverbed. We are going to use EZ water in a water feature we are working on and we have some scenery to glue in the pond. Thanks!

I am saddened to tell you that it turned into a disaster. This is is not a criticism of your video. I just wanted to tell you what happened last weekend. I followed the instructions on the packet & heated it slowly on the stove. When I came to pour it, I kept the pot as close to the terrain as was possible. Everything was fine until the near end of the pour and then lots of bubbles started to appear. I tried to tease them out with a wooden cocktail stick but it just seemed to make things worse. Then within 1 or 2 minutes it started to set. Rock solid. Afterwards, I tried to prise off using a flat chisel. Then I tried drilling 30-odd holes around it to try and break it free - No joy. In the end, I have opted for covering it with new layer of plaster and will try again with an epoxy mix. I don't know why it went wrong. Maybe it reacted to the acrylic base paint? Maybe it reacted to the plaster underneath? I have no idea. Perhaps the product is not suitable for deeper water? My model is TT scale. A semi-elevated dog bone surrounded by one low level track and sidings.

Now that it's been down for a while, is it durable? Did it fully harden? Can it easily be cleaned of dust? Does the color change over time? Does it crack or chip?

That looks very realistic water Looks like it is somewhere in Scotland where you can have a wee dram .I would recomend Famose Grouse

If going for the disused look, add some ballast,dirt, and weeds to the top of the intake tower...

Should of used a few rock to fill the space a bit more.... So nice to hear, and see a kiwi modelling

I was only after a subtle amount of rock, the landscape is not rocky and you wouldn't expect to see many rocks (if any) in a water reservoir built early 1900's.
