Creative Soundblaster H6 headset review: My favorite Gaming Headset

Today we take a look at another great headset from Creative: The SoundblasterX H6! This is Creatives newest gaming oriented headset, and man it's awesome! Everything I love about the H7 is dialed to 11 with this new set, and they even threw in RGB! Soundstage is better, the drivers are more crisp, and the software works alongside my G6 amp. It's a more cohesive suite of devices that work alongside one another, and allow me to tune my audio the way I like. This headset also features a decent mic, one that you could definitely use to stream with. The H6 is great, and honestly is my new go-to headset for streaming because of the features, sound, and phenomenal comfort.

I bought these based on your review and the reviews of other Tech Tubers. The mic quality on this headset is impressive. As you know, there are more expensive headsets with very poor mic quality. Once I got these, I installed the software and tinkered with the settings. Once done, I called my son, a university student away from home, via Discord and he said it sounded like I was standing right next to him. On to gaming, my gamer friends said my voice quality sounded great and like my natural unaltered voice. Thanks for your thorough detailed review that helped me make my decision. I had a Corsair HS60 Pro and the mic quality was awful and iCue doesn't allow for mic adjustments on that model. At MSRP, the H6 is only $10.00 USD more, than the HS60 Pro, so the decision to get these and return the HS60 Pro was a no brainer. I returned the Corsairs as soon as the H6 arrived. I gamed last night for 5 hours with these and even though the headband could use some more padding, they were comfortable and I had no issues. Again, thanks for your detailed review. I believe at this price point, these are the most underrated headsets at this price point IMO.

I thank you for mentioning this because for some reason the HS60 Pro has been calling my name so much but every time I see these Soundblaster headphones I'm incredibly intrigued. There's just not a lot of coverage on them from big names I'm familiar with.

I know this is an old comment but I'm answering for anyone who sees this: i bought the alphas and i'm returning them as the directional audio is pretty bad so for games like cs:go they're kinda useless ( other than that the sound quality is pretty good and the mic is kinda mediocre/bad ) , i'm gonna buy the soundblaster h6.

@@dankpillow Hi. Did you buy those h6? In every review of H6s, they seem to be really good, but I'd like to know how would you compare them to Alpha's, I care about the bass, which in Cloud's is not that good imo. I'm thinking about returning my Cloud 2, and buy the H6.

@@d4m0n64 i actually ended up going for the logitech g633 which are a good balanced headset with a nice mic, you should check them out. also they have surround 7.1 but i dont really use it for gaming

Question, I will use this headphones with my Linux . So I will be not able to use the headphones drivers when I will use the USB. My idea is to use it for meetings and interviews. So , I would like to remove the flashing lights . Is it possible to do it ? Or when I will plugin the headphones everyday to my Linux I will have the default configuration with the flashy lights ? My idea is to put the red color and keep that color forever . THanks

Can you feel the bass vibration ?, ive oredered a pair but im cautious about bass and not being able to feel it or its missing the heavy thuds/thumping. Every headset ive bought including the creative air c lack bass, nothing competes with the evo zx or zxr

The bass is there and actually good but (at least to me) they seem very tinny sounding. Its like they have the mid/highs up way to high

Hey Bro, I just got the H6 and I'm trying to work it, I'm trying everything I can, my mic doesn't seem to work, I opened my StreamlabsOBS and tried to test it, but I didn't hear myself when I played the recording, you got any tips? (Yes, I did unmute it)

Yeah, it works now, but when I talk, it usually makes a buzzing sound and it annoys everyone who hears it, so many people have muted me.

@@teamsw1ft982 There is 2 sides of the mic, the 3 boxes is for ambience and the single small rectangular shaped box is for your mic. So angle the single small box towards ur mouth. if not the ambience mic might detect it making the weird sound

I bought the H6 and its absolutely fantastic. I had a logitech g231 prodigy and it sucked ass both audio and ESPECIALLY the mic wise, compared to this headset, and this has rgb, equalizer, detechable mic, better comfort....etc... Its so much better =/ very worth the price point.

yes, the earpads are replaceable, but the headphones are not wireless

Does anyone get strange feedback/noise from the mic when using teamspeak or discord? Me and a friend both have this same headset. But we can hear a strange noise/feedback from each other when on ts or discord.

@@TheItachiRulez we resolved it by installing the software provided and there is a noise cancelling setting to tick. Should sort your problem.

@@airrunner85 I have the same issues atm... I've turned everything off in the software but my friends get still echo/strange sounds.... drivers are all new so i think imma return it :(

@@leftichr.4031 We found a fix. Purchase a 3.5mm and mic splitter they are like £2 from ebay. Then plug into pc. For some reason these headset were picking up some sort of interference from the pc which was affecting feedback. That should fix your problem. :)

@@hehe_boi9181 I’ve been using them since many days, it’s really good and underrated. If you’re playing with a controller on PS or other console you can use aux but you will be stuck with the same volume and u need to minimise with settings. However, if you use usb instead of aur which I use for ps and PC you can control volume and stuff. You can also use surround sound but that’s on PC coz Sony doesn’t allow. The mic is very good with noise reduction and you can adjust the rgb however you want but not on ps coz the software isn’t there. Finally, I haven’t faced any issues with this and I would recommend anyone this. If you wanna control volume via aux then u need to buy a cable with volume control. I hope this helps. Lmk if u have anymore Q’s

Am i the only one that thinks these are way to crisp on the sound? High and mids are overblown, even when i try to equalize. When playing FPS it sounds like things are further away and not right in-front of me and everything is very tinny sounding.
