Behind the scenes on the set of Creature Comforts
Nick Park’s Creature Comforts took the classic documentary style and applied it to the lives of wild animals and pets, matching a cast of clay characters with human voices to charming effect. Originating from Nick’s 1989 Academy Award®-winning short film, Creature Comforts was unique for using unscripted vox-pop interviews with the British public in a stop motion series that has become an Aardman classic.
The success of the short film led to two TV series, which broadcast on ITV, and an iconic series of commercials for the Electricity Board’s ‘Heat Electric’ campaign. Creature Comforts also went across the pond to the USA where the unique format was used once again to tell real-life stories from people in America. The claymation characters portray very human traits and contemplate absurdities of the universe such as, ""Do bald eagles ever feel self-conscious?"" and ""What makes pigs feel sexy?""

Such a shame the fire in 2005 destroyed so much of their hard work- I hope that Aardman considers making new Creature Comforts in the future with new characters

This art must never be lost. I always have and always will buy their movies when they come out on Blu ray. Very talented group here, doing this art form.

Me Too, Its a shame Aardman don't have More Blu-Ray Releases, DVD is Acceptable but a lot of them aren't available anymore

We need Creature Comforts to come back on our TV screens, especially Christmas Time. We're all in need of a good family LAUGHTER , which this series has in spades. MORE PLEASE 🙏 !!!

It is always amazing, the amount of labor that goes into these animations: not just the simple moving of the figures, but the synchronization of dialogue, and the sheer expression and emotion that they put into them. Pure mastery of the animators' art!

This is a seriously underrated channel. You do fine artistic work, and I agree with others here-this has a similar feel to the final animated product. I love the dedication! Keep up the great work! 👍

to all who are contributing to this wonderful series: Thank you very much for all the joy and laughter. I've been enjoying "creature comforts" since the very first film and the spin off commercials for "heat electric" etc. This is an outstandingly clever series and it shows humor at it's very best.

I’m Very Intrigued To Know How Much Real: Time, Materials And Money Went Into Making The Polar Bear Figure And What Is It’s Dimensions? Where can I hand my CV in? I'll do cleaning if I have to! 😂 As a youngster I had no idea how much time and hard work it actually took to make just one episode, now I'm in awe! The craftmanship is second to none and you all seem like interesting and fun folks.
