Terrific post match interviews - adults speaking candidly. Far superior to the media trained children who play the game today.

Was never close to being out....very painful loss but made 1995 victory in WI so much sweeter...I think the first season Steve put the hook away...and the birth of the gutsiest bat we ever had Langer

Nice catch by Dujon off McDermott's helmet to win the match. With modern video technology that would be given not out.

Was always the way before neutral umpires - Australian batsmen got at least 2 lives in Australia. Away teams needed about 15 wickets per innings.

@@goweresque i know...kiwi aussie english and even west indian umpires were bad but blame always went to sub continent umpires

It's one thing to be bias, but another thing to be bias AND corrupt, which the pakistani and indian umpries certainly were.

That was some poor umpiring both taylor and langer were plum lbw few times,Curtly would've had 450 wkts if DRS was there back in the day lol

Did you know that if the ball pitches outside leg you can't be given out?
@trenchantinsight4 жыл бұрын
Swings and roundabouts. Ambrose's wicket of Boon's at 2.50 is clearly impact outside the off stump. Umpires have a tough job and generally it evens out.

Well, two of the greatest test finishes and both times the Aussies lose on questionable umpiring decisions. Any other nation would be crying about it to this day. These Aussies however are a tough breed of cricketers.

Partisan umpires not enough to stop the steam roller combo of Ambrose and Walsh> Only Merv Hughes could glare down the umpire for giving him out when it was missing off stump and leg stump and hitting half way up middle

overall , umpiring well below desired standards.
@QuasiELVIS4 жыл бұрын
Not really. The last wicket was a bit dodgy but everything else looked good, there was a very difficult one off Shane Warne's forearm. No DRS in those days, all on the umpire.

The match would have ended much earlier had Langer been given LBW. He was plumb twice early on in his innings. Nevertheless, One of the greatest matches ever. Good old days, when Men played like Men on fast pitches against lethal bowlers, unlike modern day flat track bullies, averaging 60 against helpless bowlers while hyper nationalist jingoistic commentators harp on their hollow achievements under the glare of their crony paymasters.
