You never heard of Kerry O'Keeffe? He was more prevalent in the 70's, early 70's, but he did take some test wickets for Australia. He is more well known for his comedic approach, but I still hung on him in the 1977 Centenary test.

About 20 years ago Kerry was guest speaker at our sports night. As you might imagine his stories were hilarious. Damn I didn’t get his autograph.

He played in an era when Australia were pretty unbeatable and he was good enough to get a call up but he didn't take himself too seriously. He knew what his capabilities were and just went with it, and just enjoyed himself along the way.

He only laughs at his own jokes - which he stole from others . Cannot stand listening to him - he is a 10 year old . Watched him play - he couldn’t hit a 6 onto the bike track on Hurstville oval . (Smallest outfield )

@@dyingimmortal Yes. I find the 50 over ODIs a nice balance from either being bored for days by test cricket or the silly mic'd up player commentary and circus atmosphere of T20. However I am not allowed to watch mg favourite format because apparently it is no longer popular and the pay tv people don't want the general public to see it. Cricket is fucked!!!!!

Kerry is why radio commentries not just in his early era but still has made it more interesting cause he knows how to make people laugh, cry but more importantly his self confidence is where his delivery is very educational in many ways. Life is somthing he shows how to enjoy as we all have bad day.

Kerry makes some great one liners, and then some not so. He guffaws longest at these. One of his good jokes came as he lauded the Aussies’ outfits. Cream pants and shirts and baggy green caps he thought were fabulous. Of the English wearing white pants and shirts with blue baseball caps he said, “They come to the field looking like a team of painters.” Good one mate.
