@@bethanychatman9531 but if you watch her first round with amber she takes a very different approach. There’s also the fact that Camille got amber to basically admit one or two of the requirements of thing Johnny was sueing for. In the rebuttal amber admitted to the article being written by her and it being because of Johnny. After that as long as the jury believed that she was full of it there’s enough evidence to show she had malice(the legal definition of it) and well the rest is history so to speak.

Her whole attitude was great. She adopted this almost-bitchy, accusatory, brilliantly condescending tone. Camille was playing a character a bit (and doing a better job than that heard woman ever has), knowing heard would bitch and snark back because she couldn’t help herself and she’s too vapid and narcissistic to realise she was being skilfully baited. Thus showing who she really is and not the poor ickle victim she had been pretending to be. Once exposed the real heard was laid bare for all to see.

I’ve noticed that Camille keeps up a fast pace - it means Amber has to make up lies really quickly and inevitably she’s going to trip herself up cos she doesn’t have time to think them through. It puts Camille under pressure too cos she has to be able to deal quickly with Ambers deflections, spot the contradictions and point them out clearly. So in a way it’s a battle of wits - who’s faster to the punch and who’s smarter…

There were multiple fuckups from Amber during this trial. My top 10 would be: - "Bruise kit" that didn't exist until 2017 - Overdramatic performance on direct exam (my dog stepped on a bee) - Claiming that identical photos with different saturation were taken separately - "I use pledged and donated synonymously" - Referring to Kate Moss rumor - Claiming that she only attacked Johnny in self defense seconds after playing audio with her saying: "I did start a physical fight" - Two black eyes, split lip and a broken nose on Corden show - Claiming she didn't notify TMZ after playing video from 2016 with her saying that "TMZ was alerted" - Admitting that op-ed was about Johnny - "I'm not sitting in this courtroom laughing, smiling, making snide jokes" saying the day after everyone saw her in the courtroom doing exactly that.

Bruise kit does exist and its used in filmmaking/theatre to make fake bruises. So what she did is slip up. She pretty much said she used bruise kit. Which is why her bruises look fake. Also the way she described concealing the bruises doesn't add up, first you cover the bruise with the colour opposite of the spectrum (if the bruise is purpe you use green, if it's brownish you use yellow or so, not an expert), then concealer, then foundation and then you continue with your usual makeup. What she testified is that she used foundation, concealer then the bruise kit. Which is how you'd make bruises.

And she hid it, like IPV victims so often do, to protect him under the ethos of "until death"-romance. Johnny however, is lying about everything. He isn't after the truth. He wants revenge. Revenge for his son getting confronted with Ambers article, and for his tanked career and for Amber leaving him and telling on him (covert narcissists can't accept being left). But the truth is that HE HIMSELF cause his career to crash with his boozing and drugs. Man up and take responsibility, Johnny!

35:00 what I think the most brilliant thing though that Camille did here wasn't just to frustrate AH to the point where she admits to writing the Op Ed about JD, it's that she doesn't react to it. The previous times AH was caught in a trap, Camille called the juries attention to it, however if she called attention to this, AH might back out of it and say something like "I meant the type of person he is, the abusers that people like me have to face." By not mentioning it, and trusting that the jury heard and understood what she just said Camille doesn't allow AH the opportunity to back out. One of AHs strongest points was that she didn't mention JD by name in the article. And it got shattered. I believe that it was a key moment in JDs victory.

I don’t believe Amber understood what Camille and Morgan Tremaine the former TMZ guy did by him testifying that the actual person or her representatives notified TMZ it would take less time to publicize -15 minutes. Which was how long it took for TMZ to process the video she sent. By doing this they brilliantly avoided hearsay objections and trouble for Tremaine regarding his liability in disclosing her involvement. AH wasn’t smart enough to realize the damage that did. It proved she has no trouble lying under oath! She didn’t seem to understand but obviously the jury got it. Camille ran circles around Amber Heard.

The most brilliant move Camille made was the pause after Amber admitted that the op-ed was about Johnny. It was the most beautiful moment of cross examination of a sociopath I've ever seen. Pausing, gave the whole world that moment of shock without giving Amber a chance to gaslight everyone about what she just said. And you could hear a pin drop across the world. Justice was coming. Finally. In a world of injustice and lies, truth was exposed. And Amber felt the earth move, but because Camille didn't tell her what she had just done, she went ahead feeling a bit confused, but not knowing what happened. Until it was too late. It sat there too long as truth. Like concrete, it set. And it was over.

I love how Camille points out that Amber and her legal team effectively committed perjury by submitting duplicate photographs for evidence which they testified depicted two separate incidents. Then Amber has the balls to accuse Camille of "hiding the metadata." It's so asinine that the judge literally tells her "That's how it was submitted into evidence." It kind of baffles me how insanely inept Amber and her Lawyers are, if the judge were to hand down summary judgement in favor of Depp at that point I don't think anyone would blame her.

My theory is that her stalling is due to her reading the testimony to get her story straight, that’s why she could come back and say “I don’t know, I need the context.” My other theory was that Camille being a strategic pick bc of her DV history of a female partner. She probably feels comfortable trying to push around another woman. And the strategy was probably to pull that part out of her and expose her true self. I’m not that familiar with law, but this felt impactful in terms of how a juror may view this case.

Not only did her hair distract me, but also the way she answered her questions AT the jury. I’ve been on a jury before, and the plaintiff always spoke to the person asking the questions. It had to be uncomfortable for the jurors since she kept trying to make eye contact with them. Her stalling every time she had to find a page was super obvious. It was really great to see her look right at, and answer Camille (to her face,) once the claws came out. That’s when Amber showed who she really is. And that anger was palpable! This is actually the right thing to do TBH. She's a woman claiming to be abused, and she needs to connect with those jurors to get them on her side. The problem is it failed because she's not a believable, nice, person and instead of acting humble and like an actual victim, she came across as a bully. But it is the right thing to do, especially in a civil trial where the bar for conviction is MUCH LOWER, to try and get the jurors on your side. As Bruce says "That snarkiness is not making her likeable. And your client being liked by the jury is *critical* to your case." I think this was right, but the issue is she's just full of shit and aggressive as a result, so it didn't endear her at all. If she was a real victim and looked those jurors in the face while she went and testified that would resonate STRONGLY and connect with them. Unfortunately though is that it just wasn't true lol.

Agree - I've heard cops say that one way they know someone is likely to be guilty is that a person who is falsely accused generally reacts in an angry or outraged manner. They don't just sit and play smart-ass with their accuser like Amber did. So coolness under questioning is a sign of guilt, not innocence. Also like you say, if she was as abused and traumatised (with PTSD, like she said) we would have seen some fear or breakdown in the presence of her alleged abuser (Johnny) and his attack dogs (Vazquez and Chew) but instead, we saw defiance and bare-faced lying as if she were the guilty one and she was showing how smart she was outwitting them. Amber gave herself away with her bad acting and her arrogance that she could fool everyone...

We found out through the transcripts released WITH the sidebars that someone about 3 rows behind defendant counsel had snickered after AH was busted using the same picture for two different "incidents." Rottenborn complained about it on the bench approach, and, class act that Camille is, she agreed. And so the judge admonished the gallery. It's a very interesting moment, esp bc the camera pans to the gallery right when it happens.

It was definitely a good strategy to have a female lawyer confronting AH, optics-wise. For one, as you said, it looked like a "fair fight," so to speak, so people subconsciously would be less likely to see AH as a "victim" of lawyerly badgering, as they might if it were a male lawyer. Furthermore, I think that it was important to have a female lawyer *defending Johnny* because of the allegations. To show that this woman believed him and was vehement in her pursuit of justice on his behalf. That makes a powerful impact as well.
