Apparently Crit Awards has announced they will not be at Gen Con, and all tickets charges will be returned to purchasers. They cited “safety concerns”, which is clearly BS, and more likely they were disinvited by Gen Con.

I believe that Gencon did not give the Crit-Awards the boot because it was the right thing to do. I believe that GenCon had to. There are 38 states that has some form of State Anti-BDS Legislation. Indiana BDS bill passed in a 47-3 vote, the State Senate approved anti-BDS legislation on March 1, 2016. The House approved the legislation in January 2017. The law requires mandatory state divestment from any company that participates in, "the promotion of activities to boycott, divest from, or sanction Israel,” including “territories controlled by the Jewish State of Israel.” The Indiana Convention Center is owned by the state. I'm glad they got kicked out. No place for crap like the Crit-Awards.

Just starting out their first few points say they're narrowing down their focus super small. A submission could be the best book of all time but because it doesn't have diversity, social commentary and is by someone who has been in the industry a while then it wont win anything. No one should give whoever these Crit Awards people are any credit.

Politics do not belong in the gaming sphere. Period. End of. Zero percent tolerance. This is not a diss on you or your comments. The fact anyone would have to make a video of this nature should have never even happened in the first place. People need to leave politics out of gaming.

As is often the case, nuance and ambiguity abounds in the realm of political and philosophical identification; it is arguable whether an avowed "pro-genocide" Zionist can be classified as holding views in concert with all forms of historical Zionist ethnostate nationalism, but the pro-genocide crowd (at least) do regard themselves as holding to a flavor of Zionist political thought. it might well have been a better editorial choice for the CRiT awards organizers to specify that their awards were not offered to "individuals or organizations supportive of genocide." This would have allowed a more accurately inclusive, flexible and focused ban on potential award nominees who might espouse distasteful or violent ideologies, independent of whatever labels they adopted for themselves. Use functional definitions, not shorthand, when describing that which is odious.
