Yep. I took off the bottom bracket this morning because the roller was out. Been working to get it fixed all day. I think this was the video i really needed to watch. The cables on the drums are giving me fits. Thanks. Will let you know if what you taught me helps. I hate springs.

So I don’t need winding bars in place while loosening the tension on the cable screws? Just Vice grips? My door is slightly crooked and I used a winding bar to hold it in place while reattaching and winding the cable on the side it came off of. When I tightened the screws up though the door was lowered more than before but it was still visibly crooked. I’m gonna get some vice grips to hopefully get it fully fixed

I love your videos. I find them very informative and I have used them to repair my garage door. I have a troubleshooting question. My garage is showing some light at the bottom right side. I tried your technique of securing the winding rod with vise grips, and slowly releasing the drum tension to allow the cable and the door to drop. However, when I tried it, the opposite lower side begins to pull up as well. I do not understand how this happens because my rod is properly secure at the bottom part with vise grips. I truly would welcome any input that would allow me to properly level my door.

I feel like I wasted time watch watching. There is so much emphasis on how dangerous this is, yet how safe is it to fix the garage door solely on someone narrating the instructions? I would rather have ACTUALLY watched what he was explaining rather than assuming I am doing it correctly. Please include step-by-step video next time. Thank you!
