Compressing the spring like that is ultra conservative way of doing it . We would trim the spring coil( very little 1 mm)first loop And then rub the end on sharpening stone and fit back into the pistol. Though in time without doing anything the spring will become lighter on it’s own from use .

You can also add a 22lr case to the spring side riding the trigger. The brass will smooth out after break in making for a super smooth nice and light 1 1/2 lbs trigger pull. After spring adjustment.

Re the barrel band, you need to shim between the barrel and the co2 cylinder with a small piece of alum. plug (1/16" long inside of the screw hole) to prevent the set screw from distorting the barrel where the set screw is located - which can dimple the bore and will greatly affect the accuracy of your gun. A shim between the barrel and the air cylinder is optional. but will also help to maintain the same distance as established at the breech - just make sure to NOT bend it out of proper alignment. This is an excellent pistol and this "mod" and lightly polishing the trigger and sear and then adding a drop or two of silicone or graphite will greatly enhance it's accuracy.

Idid the hammer spring mod but I just cut an 8th of a inch and I get about 45 shots all consist really good thanks for the info . I'm a happy chopy

Just about to buy one for my sister, who has a "Webley Tempest" that I have shot, and it comes nowhere near the pathetic 3.3 ft lbs as stated when new! Going to give it a good service, with new seals or whatever, and then sell it, as it should easily pay for the 2240! I've had probably twenty plus rifles and pistols, and such as a "Deben Pro Mil" scope for my field target guns. Sold all but my pistols, years ago, and currently have a "Webley Alecto" .177 which is super accurate, and has the best trigger I ever encountered, an "SMK Victory CP1" which is a superb quality product, and would be wonderful, but the trigger is crap, and a "Dan Wesson 8 inch Nickel" which is uselessly inaccurate, but good fun! Why am I telling you all this, you say? Just so that, hopefully you will realise I am no stranger to modding guns (I took a "Daystate Harrier" rifle to almost 40 ft lbs by simply opening up the transfer port, and fitting a grade 3 spring)! I do have F.A.C. btw! So a long way round to tell you that your advice re aligning the barrel is nonsense! It wouldn't make any difference if it was 45 degrees out, as you sight down the barrel, not the cylinder! All of that said, the trigger lightning is good advice, and my experience with a 2250 would confirm that, except to say that after just a few shots, the power went down to zilch, so it went back the following day to "Henry Krank's", who were unable to fix it! The best advice I've seen, is to consider shortening the hammer spring, as it is notorious for wasting C02, and the power drop isn't significant, considering the greatly improved number of shots from a cartridge.

Tweaking the sear spring by compressing it or stretching it out is hardly precision engineering. Watch Airgun Girl’s video where she replaces the Crosman sear with the Super Sear and takes a consistent 3lb off the trigger pull. It costs but what the heck, if it makes your gun shoot better?

I've always liked the wad cutters. I can shoot a straw out of a cup. Add about 15 feet.

Take the barrel band off and over drill it, about 2mm bigger than the barreal diameter place an o ring on the barrel so that it sits half way through the barrel band, this will semi float the barrel through the band and greatly inprove accuracy, JSB Exacts are amazing in 2240's

Totally agree with you on the Gamo pellets, I just was waiting to hear you say Gamo I'm like see ya pellets. Yep it needs to jammed into the breach to load which probably most likely lowering the fps but thanks for the confirmation. I had a hunch not to buy anything from Walmart, 😂

Interesting point about leveling the barrel. I'd probably use feel gauge to measure the height of the barrel in the slot between the cartridge tube at the breach and then again at the other end. What I hope you will answer for me is where did you get that front tight? I assume that's a TKO suppressor so the common barrel type front sights shouldn't be able to fit it. I'd love to know where you got it. Keep up the good work and much continued success.

The spring you have modified is the Sear Spring there is no trigger spring as std on the 2240, its a combination back feeding pressure to the Trigger

Cut a couple strips of pop or beer can for shims under the top hole on the barrel band.

Thank-you for getting back to me. the gun you used in your vid did not have a steel breech so wear and tear was not the point of my comment. I simply meant that shot to shot accuracy would not be affected if once sighted in, your sites remain untouched. Of COURSE your barrel should be aligned as accurately as possible with the powerlet chamber both vertically and horizontally. This is a bit of a moot point, however if the gun is not equipped with the far superior and more reliable steel breech. To me the 2240 goes from a hobby plinker to a viable pest control tool with the addition of the steel breech. No disrespect intended, but i feel your comments regarding barrel alignment apply best to a gun so equipped. ( weakest link in the chain and all that ). Then again, maybe I'm nit picking. Otherwise informative video! Thanks.

Try jsb exact they aint cjep bug not exspensive either and are in my humble opinion there the best but my favorite pellet ever is good old crosman acupell and acupell ft for my rifles

Hi could you tell me the make of the silencer you have on this pistol? Also does it come with the fibre optic sight attached, or was this an add on?

I shot some Daisy wadcutters in my 1322 multi pump yesterday. The gun has a steel breech, the Crosman butt stock, and a Centerpoint 4 power scope. Shooting at 10 yards, best group was under 1/4". Most were a bit bigger, but got many nice groups. I agree about the Gamo Match wadcutters. Way too often, the pellets won't go into the breech without great force. Too bad, because the Gamo Match shoots well in my 1377 in .177 caliber. I just ordered a 2240, so we'll see how it shoots.

Would measuring the gap before moving the barrel around make sense? Has anyone analyzed the gas expansion physics for adding extended barrel, if the pressure is spent before pellet leaves the muzzle it will be decelerating due to friction. There is an optimum length for the amount of gas that is discharged. This would change with the addition of upgraded gas valve, hammer and spring. One video shows a guy adding various mods and then shooting ballistic jell. When the long barrel performed the same as the stock barrel he didn’t know why and was going to look into that. I’ll try the spring adjustment, but I have some firearm quality springs from Bro**wel’s that I might try. Thanks
