Those are some good cabin choices, if I do say so myself! As I said in the Tier list - that 1 energy cost that Heavy Cabins lose is brutal, but the Humpback can totally make it worth it. Interestingly enough the Colossus is best used on Hovers and not the big chonkers heavy cabin builds (for that power bonus). The Oppressor is a great engine (and if you see my tier list on modules I go farther into that) that once you start using it, it becomes very difficult to not weave it into any future builds you make!

*squints* Did you notice the clickbait splash thumbnail? The one with me saying AAAAAHHHH!!!? There's 50 cabins in XO right now and over 150 guns! It's going to be like a 3 hour video! XD

So when looking at the Tier of a cabin you have to compare it to the game as a whole. As a 'whole' the Carapace falls short, not because you can't make a build at a specific powerscore where it can function, but because it isn't really dominant in the life-cycle of the game. At 4500 there are other builds that are just as competitive using cabins that can actually be used outside of 4500, for example - which is what keeps the Carapace down.

@@cardboardninja2429 Hmm. Aside from at that low end, I never use the carapace for anything higher, and I have used the Growl up to higher power scores. Alright, that's fair, I'm convinced.

That's pretty much my sentiment - My favorite cabins mostly end up in C tier, but I play them because I like them!

You aren't wrong - which will bring the number of weapons that can be somewhat effective with the Machinist to 2 XD Any high hitpoint weapon would be a good choice for the Machinist, but god damn those weld points...

Cohort is a good cabin for sure! Definitely worth keeping around =D Torero is my most used cabin used in all of my "iconic" builds - I really miss the 100kph acceleration and top speed though =-(

After reading this I actually double checked the statement for accuracy; and you are correct! Holy crap it's like a faded kind of weird thing like with Decals when they're on a slope or something. Ugh. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Machinist just needs to buff ALL weapons instead of weapons on the cabin and it suddenly becomes more than viable!

A cabin that does it all, and does it well is definitely S tier =P

Just make sure you're using wheels! There are 3 visual indicators to let you know about the damage bonus: 1. White smoke coming from your tires 2. Cabin lights up 3. Perk icon lights up It's easier to activate when you have a mix of ST wheels and regular wheels, since if you're using all ST wheels you're not drifting, but turning.

Carapace top speed kills this cabin hard - B tier would be a cabin that would compete directly with the Growl, which it doesn't. At best it could be C tier, as you could force it to work in the 4k powerscore bracket...

@@cardboardninja2429 eh I do not see the top speed as a huge deal. neither the growl or carapace really do well at 9k, but to be honest, you can easily get 60 kph out of a carapace with the right engine, or even 55k with a cheaper one. That is pretty dang good. I think it is better then the growl for some things. Its not like either one should be anywhere near scorpian hover spam level.

OOOF! Okay, so I own both, and I've used the Torero longer. If I had to pick one and only one for MYSELF I would err to the side of the Torero, even post speed nerf (taking it down from 100kph down to 90kph with the acceleration nerf that accompanied that). However, as advice to other players, I would say the Favorite is going to provide more tangible results - especially with shotguns which can provide continuous, withering firepower. As for the machine guns most of the time you will be better served by the favorite if you're using miniguns, but you will be better served by the Torero for tap-fire machine guns. So, in general you're probably going to be happier with the Favorite - hope that helps!

I really appreciate your advice, I'm about to spend $100 to get me started at this game and was afraid to pick the wrong setup as I will be stuck with this build for a WHILE lol I wanted to go hover but at $70 per car, it left my price range. For $30 I get a cheetah engine, favorite or torero. Then for $30 ka2 flywheel, expanded ammo pack, and Bigfoot st tires or rn seal, buggy wheels. With these 2 purchases that's 3k coins then I'm buying the deal for $40 just because it gives me $4000 coins. So I'll end with a few useful parts and 7k coins to start me out. The $40 stuff is so so, mainly for the coins but it gives me claw tires, Deadman, quasar and power unit. Nothing major but I figure I can sell stuff later. Do you think this is a solid start?

One thing of note - as of THIS message, the price of the Favorite cabin has TANKED because there's a cash shop offer for a 50% reduction to the cost of the cheap pack... SOOOO if you were planning on getting the most bang for your in-game buck (coins), the answer is the Favorite since it's up for sale for approx 950 to 1000 coins right now. However, not to over think this, the battle pass is soon to be released (likely next month) and that's going to include a legendary machine gun... that is directly inhibited (made worse) by the Favorite perk. Additionally, the battle pass is coming with what appears to be a legendary 4 energy generator. If it follows the same pricing schema of the previous passes it's going to be $15 USD and if you're brand new to the game that will most likely produce the greatest returns for your money, albeit at the cost of grinding the levels. As for buying packs, it depends on if you're attempting to get most coins in return on investment, so what I will say is this: You should almost never spend real life money on a pack that isn't on sale. Packs go on sale for 50% off every month, and that will outright save you the most money over all, since it literally doubles what you get and what you can get. So my advice would be: be patient and wait for a sale to get what you want and get the Battle pass when it comes out. (Keep in mind, the Favorite cabin is presently 50% off in both the cash shop store and the in-game market for coins as a result). Hope that helps!

"Mine tug" - This is the combination of the 3x King Mine layers + 2 Skinners. The idea is, you can't force someone to drive over the mines you lay on the ground... but you sure as heck can drag them over your mines! You use a heavy cabin and a bunch of wheels to provide incredible traction so you have the power needed to drag builds of all sizes. Hence: Mine Tug =D

I believe there's a co-driver application out there (that's just the name of the application), but I don't use it... Are you referring to structural parts or just all parts like cabin and weapons?

Another great combination, though more expensive, is Gravastar + Kami. You can get the benefits of the Gravastar overheat without the guns actually being overheated!

I can't say that at all - I have never played the Mobile version of Crossout!

The Kami is an interesting cabin. 3 pins high but 10 pins long it comes in tied with the Cockpit for the shortest cabin in the game. The additional 4 pins on the back of the cabin actually prove to be an extremely strong mounting point for weapons, allowing your cabin to protect the rear-mounted (but front facing) weapons on a surface that can't be removed save the destruction of your vehicle. The Kami shares the game's current highest top-speed of 100kph and has excellent acceleration to match. The Kami has the second highest maximum mass for light cabins, coming in behind only the Griffin - though it should be noted if you have the Fused Griffin cabin from the previous battle pass and the Fused Kami from the more recent battle pass you actually have MORE available mass on the BP fused Kami. The perk of the Kami is situational - providing pure immunity to all negative effects for a short period of time (5 sec) with a reasonable cooldown (15 sec). If opponents do not have a weapon that provides a debuff, nor are using a weapon that leaves destructible parts then the Kami has no effect. However, against such opponents it proves to be an absolute hard-counter. Immunity to heat being the most obvious effect, the Kami also provides immunity to the Phoenix, Nest, and Enlightenment and most recently the Daze. Interesting effects that can be exploited with the Kami are use with the Gravastar - as when you are immune to negative effects the Gravastar will not overheat, but WILL still heat the enemy, use with Porcupines, preventing your own build from heating up, but surprisingly has no effect on the Kaiju. In the CURRENT meta, the Kami comes in at S-Tier. Exceptional geometry, fastest cabin top speed, usable with all movement parts (especially now that Icarus VII have a 95kph top speed) and a perk that can be used on any build that has multiple extraneous uses makes the Kami an excellent choice of cabin.

The Tusk is a weapon-agnostic cabin that takes 75% less collision damage while potentially dealing 400% more collision damage that can be used to make multiple effective builds. You can be a mine layer, fuze drones, pure ram build with boosters, a sideways hover ram build (yes this is a thing, however bad it is), or you can just do a straight shotgun build that rams people, or a melee build using chainsaws, etc.
