1/4 pound jump rope from Crossrope “Get Lean” package. I jump rope a lot. I wanted to see what this weighted rope was like. (Package also includes a 1/2 pound rope that easily clicks onto the handles.)

To be 💯, Lisa, a short way through the video, I thought to myself, “I’ll never be as good as her, because I just turned 51…” And then you said you were 56 and it blew my mind… I feel so inspired… So much more deeply inspired than ever!

Great foot work and ideal skills for a cardio workout. Love that you're not filling your workout with non stop side swings and pointless over the top tricks.They may look flashy but the person isn't jumping over the rope half the time.Your constantly jumping over the rope so much harder. Same age as me btw. We are doing well kiddo lol. Best wishes from London England.

Thank you for the kind words. I, too, have noticed that a lot of people do moves that one could do without even jumping or moving their feet. That doesn’t seem like a good workout to me, either. And you’re right-we ARE doing well haha! Have a great day!

You are preaching!!!!!!!! Since starting my journey I've seen a couple of people that seem to jump hardcore but are overweight... Which causede to be extremely confused. How could one jump like that and still be obese. I then realized it's because all they do are those tricks and only jump over the rope a couple of times.

Oh, sorry-I misunderstood. I got the medium (8’6”). I went by their chart and I’m 5’8” tall. That said, as I’ve been jumping more and more and adding in releases and direction changes and all, I’ve been shortening my ropes and I’d probably try a shorter one next time. I think the ideal length brings my hands closer to the height of my hips. This rope forces me to hold it higher and I’m not sure how to shorten it, unless I tie knots.

Thank you! I started jumping because I had plantar fasciitis and my running was always making that worse. Jumping made it feel better and I could still get cardio training, I would say about a year to get to this level. Since I shot this review, I’ve added more speed and a lot more moves.

What jump rope should a beginner use
@lisadavisbodyconstruction7 ай бұрын
I started out with a 4mm PVC, but I just grabbed a rope I found. I’ve tried a lot of ropes since then. It really just comes down to what you like and what kind of workout you’re trying to get. Some people say you should start with a beaded rope, but I never liked those much. My recommendation, if you’re like me and want to go fast, would be a 4 or 5 mm PVC and another rope to trade out with that gives you variety. The crossrope would be my suggestion (and I’m not sponsored by them.). I have a couple of other jump rope review-type videos you could go to and see if my type of jumping is similar to what you’re going for. They’re on my channel under “gear reviews” one is my 3 favorite ropes and the other I’m thinking of shows how different ropes affect my heart rate when I use them.

How long to jump rope daily??
@lisadavisbodyconstruction3 ай бұрын
I think each person is different. If someone is new, I suggest jumping for one minute then rest. Do that a few times until you can work up to longer periods. I always warm up with jump rope before my other workouts for at least 10 minutes and on cardio days, I jump for 30-60 minutes.

How long did it take you to get that good?
@lisadavisbodyconstruction Жыл бұрын
Probably about a year-maybe less, but it would have been faster if I had been trying harder to get better. I was a runner and developed plantar fasciitis so was struggling to keep my cardio fitness up. I decided to try jumping rope and it really helped my foot, while giving me a great cardio workout. But I was mainly trying to let my foot heal (I would do a lot of one-leg jumping on my good foot.). I got fast and enjoyed it and just recently saw videos on people doing some of these other moves, so I’ve been working on them for variety.
@zero-ol2nt Жыл бұрын
@@lisadavisbodyconstruction That is awesome. Well you look really good at it and inspiring me in my jumping rope journey 😁 My goal is to get on your level. It really is great exercise and looks cool/fun once you get it down. Bought a rhythm rope which I really like but need something a little heavier so I can get it down better. Going to buy a crossrope then switch back to my rhythm rope once I level up a little more.

You’re so kind. Thank you. Good luck on your journey-but I’m sure the practice will make good luck be less of a necessity. Haha. I do it almost every day for intervals between weights, or at least for a warm-up before weights. Let me know if I can help in any way.
