Another cruise along the amazing St. Johns River as we return to Sanford from Jacksonville after a few months out cruising. This time, we explore some new to use side trips and anchorages to share with you.
Join us for a detour on Doctors Lake to finally eat at Whiteys Fish Camp, taking the twisty Dunn Creek into Crescent Lake and then a new to us anchorage in Welaka to explore Mud Creek Springs for an afternoon cold dip.

We're Cherie & Chris and we've been full time technomads since 2006. We are owned by Kiki (meow).
We have a fleet of nomadic vessels that we split our time between - a 1961 GM 4106 vintage bus, a 1999 Bayliner 4788 motor yacht and a 2020.5 Travato GL van conversion. You'll find RV, van and boat life content here, as we feel inspired to share - sometimes topical, sometimes travelogues, sometimes just hanging out.
We love sharing a slice of our life with others, and also blog at www.technomadia.com, Facebook and Instagram. We use the name 'Technomadia' in all those places. Come join the adventure however you choose!
Income generation is NOT a goal of ours under the 'Technomadia' brand - we do this for fun.
Our full time 'job' is running the Mobile Internet Resource Center, where we track and educate RVers and cruisers on their options for keeping connected. Come join us at www.RVMobileInternet.com for news, guides, reviews and courses. We also have a dedicated KZfaq channel / mobileinternetresource... you can subscribe to. Through member funding, we can give away a lot of free content - and our members get even more.

Great video! My wife and I live over in Carrabelle, FL and have always thought about taking our boat over to the East Coast and cruising the St. John. Based on this video, we're definitely going to have to get serious about doing it in 2024. Thanks!👍

OMGOSH! Great video. After full time rv we settled down in St. Augustine to catch our breath and to look for our boat for the next adventure. Which reminds me I mentioned y’all in our update vid, because you are the one’s that put the bug in my ear about the Great Loop about six years or so ago. Thank you for sharing this I have been so curious about the waterways we cross over while exploring the area by land. Enjoy the Ride Bell

Great video! Thanks for taking me to all of the old familiar stops I was lucky enough to frequent as a child! The St. Johns River is still just as beautiful as I remember. Glad you two get to experience at a leisurely pace. Be safe and enjoy! 😍

@@Technomadia Thank you! It was great info! We're going to start by riding our bikes to check the mail every day. We're in the RGV which is a windy place, but that's our solid first step.

We would love to go up the St John's River to Sanford, but the highway bridge just south of Green Cove Springs is listed as 40 - 48' and the I-4 bridge near Sanford is listed at 45'. Our 43' motor sailor has a 48' mast so Port 32 and Sadler Point Marinas on the Ortega River is where we spend storm season, but the river to the south looks so inviting.

Yes, the fixed bridges to limit a lot of sticks from coming up river. We do love the Ortega River marinas as well, and have a spent a bit of time there over the years.

I recognized a lot of those names you were bandying about. I spent about a year working in Jacksonville and would travel to my college roommate's place in Beverly hills. You did mention some places I'd like to visit on the St. Johns. I don't have a cabin boat but I do have a 14 ft john boat I travel with in my RV so I'd just have to find a place to camp. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

Always enjoy your videos. Given limited dock space in Sanford, is it viable to just anchor out a short way from the marina? Just dingy back and forth and run the Gen to charge the batteries? Thinking about that for 2-3 weeks next winter.

Yes, there's even a free public dock you can use. However, there's absolutely no protection in the lake if the winds pick up.

Really appreciate the info on cruising the St. John's River! So few resources out there to help us feel more comfortable navigating some of the skinnier parts in a large cruising vessel. So the knowledge and experience you are sharing is excellent and inspiring. We will definitely be trying to follow in your wake a good bit. On our vessel, Hello World, we try to capture short clips and upload to KZfaq, but we don't do any long-form, produced videos. Here's our channel if you are interested in checking it out. youtube.com/@mvhelloworld
