A bit of advise for frozen locks... pour a bit of alcohol on the keys before inserting in the locks, if you still cannot get the key in the lock, then put a drop of alcohol in the lock

Doesn't the beauty of winter make up for the cold, you have to be very careful walking on your boat in winter, the canal would be very cold, but you both are very confident in water, I am afraid of water. Thank you for your videos I never miss one and your banter and humour makes me laugh.

Boy you 2 are so funny in the best way. I had a big smile the whole volg .In my home town we had about 7 or 8 in of snow .Had to clean a 350 foot long drive way . Loved the video stay safe keep thim coming GOD bless.

The snow is absolutely extraordinary. We never get that here in Australia so what a treat to see it in England. Bradford on Avon looks wonderful. What a charming town. Bradford on Avon is one of my favourite little towns, and I've cycled up those hills through the town. I used to like the canal side cafe called the Lock Inn.

Can you get electric dehumidifiers in the U.K. they are used in the tropics and it’s amazing how much moisture they suck up. They make a terrific difference, worth looking into, cheaper than getting expensive mould problems.

Those moisture traps work really well, you can also use bowls of salt, just normal table salt.

Please be careful with those moisture collectors the liquid which they contain is corrosive and will spoil furniture and fabrics, When emptying it is best to use a bucket as it is hard to avoid spillages. Please take care.

We got those led light strips that come with a colour changing remote, they have a sticky back ..no scews, plus u can dim them on the remote...bonus,, we use the warm white colour,

That was a nice fall of snow and how you both enjoyed it. Just like a couple of children. I'm 79 and always look forward to a good covering of snow, although it's been quite a few years since we had a decent fall. Marina, you said it was just like home, so where are you from? I don't think I've ever heard you say.. What did you think of Bradford on Avon? It's a lovely place. I've been there many times. I've actually walked the canal from there to Bath, albeit in two parts. You've got the two aqueducts ahead of you and some very beautiful scenery. xx

Those Dampness Absorbers Will only Work with Minimal Dampness. Before Going to Bed, Open a Window / Vent & Stoke up the Fire FULLY. & Set the Fire to a Long slow burn setting, Keep Warm , But Vent the Bedroom. After a Bath / Shower, Immediately open the Bathroom Window, & Leave the Door open to vent the Bathroom for 30 mins. Regardless of the Weather / Outdoor temp. More Important in Very cold Icy weather. Also Open AS MANY Doors & Windows as Possible when Cooking. Another SERIOUS Cause of Damp in an Enclosed Space. USE the COOKER HOOD if you have one + open a Window Close to the Cooker. Bottled GAS for Cooking & Heating is ALSO a Source of Dampness / Moisture in the Air. Try to use The Log Fire or if Possible Electric Heating via a FAN Heater for Dry Heat. Maybe When Hooked up to Land Mains or Via the inverter ? ( all Power Sources Vary ) Heating with any type of GAS Flame will produce lots of Moisture in the air. A Fan Heater on Mains Power or a Very HOT Fire in the Log Stove is the best form of DRY Heat. ( the Steam & Moisture from the fire Escapes up the chimney & NOT into the Living Space , Caravan / Boat etc. Yes I Say A HOT Fire. You can Run a Cool fire or HOT fire if you Understand Fires, A Cool Fire is Hot Cinders & Ashes Then add 1 small log. & Wait until it has almost burned out, before adding more fuel. A Hot Fire is :- Add Max Fuel to a Blazing Fire with 75% of the last Fuel Just Catching Light & Blazing, NOW You add 1 or 2 more Logs Long before you think you should, & Continue to FEED , FEED, FEED the fire TO MAX Burn Capacity, Never allowing it to Drop below 60% of Full Red Hot Blazing Burn with Plenty of Air flow to the fire. This will Clean Your Chimney & Burn off any Soot & Carbon. TOO HOT ? GREAT Throw some Windows & Doors open. WASTED FUEL YOU SAY ? NO Wasted Fuel, Just a very Warm Dry Boat / Van/ Space. & Far Less Damp Issues. Fire Logs are FREE or Very Cheap, & Great for the Environment. The Co2 Feeds the Plants & Trees, & the Wood ash is Great for the Soil. Burning logs Makes Trees grow Bigger & Faster. + More Fire Logs. Follow Nature, NOT the Paid Scientific Liars & Criminals.

For every degree warmer the atmosphere holds 7% more moisture. Not sure if your fireplace is sucking air from outside the boat or inside the cabin but if inside, it's drawing air through your doors etc, you are warming that air then as it cools your humidity levels will increase. Those moisture traps are just collecting water as air passes around it, you aren't really removing moisture unless it's in a closed/sealed area in my use of them.

Good afternoon! The snow looks lovely! I want to ask about the tiny hot plate you are using at 11:26 into your video. I would love to know where I could get one! I'm writing from South Texas. I'm a half mile from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. We rarely have snow. Like 4 times in the last 25 years! I'm glad you're able to stay warm. And what is a falafel?

I can only really remember snow in London and the whole city came to a complete standstill. What a crazy mess it all was. It happened in January early every year. Glad you're both on your lovely Alba warm and cosy together. It must be lovely to escape the big cities and live the life you want. Your narrowboat looks amazing. Best to you both, David

Lovely vlog. I'm curious about the offset (or I guess the official name is "oblique"?) calligraphy pen - don't think I've ever seen one before. Is there any advantage of using that style vs. the straight pen that holds the nib?

How far north will a 62’er allow you to go? I would think it’s a bit long for some of the locks. Am I right or wrong. I did see you have a bit of trouble turning some vlogs ago. Thanks for your great vlogs.

Looks like your coke burning fire is your only means of heat, with no central heating you could do with some fans and ceiling sweep fans to distribute the heat through all parts of the boat and to get the heat down to low level.

Guess what Marina ? .............snow makes your eyes shine *grin*I must be in your Russian genes ,your secretly missing ultra low temperatures and dashing through the snow in a Troika wrapped in a bear skin rug. Myles could pretend to be Dr Zhivago. Lovely wintry vlog ,Bradford on Avon looks interesting I've never been there despite having lived in Devon and Cornwall till I was 30..We had about 8 inches of snowlast week and the ground is covered although streets are bare and dry. Temperatures are slowly rising its actually above freezing most days but get's well below 0c at night. Take care be safe ,big virtual hug XX
