The People's Court

2 жыл бұрын

The plaintiff says he hired the defendant to restore the chrome work on his 1958 Alfa Romeo classic car. He claims the defendant is a hack who destroyed the parts, so now he has to pay an arm and a leg for replacements. He’s suing for the costs. The defendant says he smells a rat, because he’s been in business for 45 years and delivered everything correctly.
Case #23-516

It's amazing how many people come in with no real evidence and then get upset they lose. You don't have to obsessively watch judge shows like I do to understand the stuff you need to bring to court to win your case.

It is interesting that plaintiff still wants the defendant to do the work for him. This would tend to imply that plaintiff believes that the defendant is the qualified expert here. Usually when someone botches a job you don't take your business back to him after that. The plaintiff's story doesn't add up very well (especially since he did not gather any evidence).

I've had many parts re-chromed on antique cars. Until the parts are actually re-chromed and done, that's when you can see if they've been done correctly or not. Plaintiff is not correct in determining if they're correct or not. Period. Correct verdict!

In the late 1950s my dad had a Chrome plating shop in Houston. Cops would bring their guns to be plated and guys that had motorcycles and antique cars would have some of their parts Chrome plated. He learned how to do that when He was in California.

I thought he did the job, but the plaintiff wasn't happy and asked him to strip them so he could get another to do it. The stripping was done wrong, apparently, so that's what he was left with. I don't see why he would get the same person he wasn't happy with to do another attempt at the chrome when he wasn't happy with the first job. He needed to take photos or video though.

The orange/pink discoloration the plaintiff was referring to was on the parts he had in the courtroom. I don’t think the judge understood due to the plaintiffs accent.
@googleyt2622
@googleyt2622 2 жыл бұрын
No he clearly said it "was" (5:58). The judge had asked him how it appeared after defendant initial finished the chrome and returned to the parts to him. Also, I think what he was trying to describe was "orange peel" which is a surface texture flaw in a finish and does not have anything to do with coloration. I've only heard that term used regarding spray paint finishes, but I think that is what he is referring to.

It's not that the defendant needed better pictures, the defendant needed to have them printed on proper picture paper. When you print a picture on regular paper the picture loses dimension and it is hard to see certain things.

Curt was exceptionally cranky in the hallway, and not in a 'Salty to be funny' sort of way, more just irritated. I am curious why after all of that, the plaintiff would still want the defendant working on his parts? That seems a bit odd to me.🤷‍♀️

Hey this is off the subject a little. But my daughter lives in a nursing home. I take pictures of her clothes the name brand , her name, room number. I do this for one reason. When covid came she was transfered to a hall that was clear. She's like a 11 yrs old. So they let her take her bear with her and it never got back to her regular hall. This bear is 46 yrs old. The director said we can't find it. Do you have a picture we can go by. It's been a yr and she still Cries for her bear. He was her best friend. He went with her to different hospitals So now I take picture's !!!!!!!
