One of my favorite snacks is egg noodles with butter and ramen seasoning. Easy simple and yummy.

el cheapo ramen noodles are one of those must have ingredients to keep in the cabinet for those times when you want something satisfying lickety split

One of my GO TO recipes for pot lucks and family functions. I also add thinly sliced fresh red pepper. BUT, I NEVER use any of those salt filled flavor packets. I also use rice wine vinegar with my oils. Just season to taste with S&P and sprinkle with some fresh parsley. For a quicker recipe, use bagged pre-cut coleslaw mix and bagged pre-cut romaine. A bit pricier, but when making large amounts for parties, much easier.

good tip for making larger portions--this dish does travel very easily for parties and pot lucks...CG likes to make this recipe for family gatherings and she will reserve the dressing and mix it after we arrive at the party to keep the noodles crunchy

Very Nice, like cutting back on the sugar for health reasons, I would consider as an occasional option adding some raisins or other dried fruit for a bit of sweetness and flavor variety.

less noodles is always a good idea--I went to a Vietnamese restaurant last week determined to get a healthy dish and I ended up getting a heavy dish of lo mien noodles, which was delicious, but not quite the veggies I needed

Thank you for sharing this wonderful crunchy creative slaw salad. I would have to use stevia instead; where I am a diabetic. And I would probably add a 5spice seasoning without the added salt from the ramen noodle packet. To try to cut back on sodium level for myself. I love the idea of the almonds & sunflower seeds for that protein added. Wonderful Recipe. Love Tamson 😇💗

I absolutely love this recipe except I will leave out the noodles. I love all the nut crunch you put in it. I think I would add very thin slices of Brussel sprouts to it if I am in a very healthy mood. I had thin slices of Brussel sprouts in a packaged salad I once bought and now use it myself in a salad sometimes.

the noodles do carb the dish up quite a bit...brussels sprouts sound like a smart addition--I can't believe I ever didn't love those veggies

Over the years I’ve had variations of this salad at potlucks, and it is delicious, but I found a healthier version at Whole Foods that is still pretty great. I have tweaked a copy-cat recipe that a friend of a friend of a friend found online. Here it is-you may want to try it yourselves and see how it compares: Cabbage Crunch (WFM) 1/2 medium head green cabbage*, chopped or shredded 1/4 medium head red cabbage*, chopped or shredded (*Eight or so cups of cabbage altogether) 2 - 4 green onions, depending on taste, sliced finely, whites and greens 1/4 cup sliced almonds, lightly toasted 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds, lightly toasted Honey Dressing 1/4 cup avocado oil (could use olive) A few drops of sesame oil (optional, don’t overdo it) 2-1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 1 tablespoon honey salt, to taste Directions: Whisk together dressing, toss with salad ingredients, and refrigerate until ready to serve. Best made an hour to a few hours before serving. Ok the next day, but ideally served the same day.

yeah--we've cut down the sugar over the years, but it's probably still more than is needed--it's a very adjustable recipe

Hahaha you guys are hilarious! I can't believe we can actually eat raw noodles wow. Doesn't that give you a stomach ache though? And 1 cup of sugar previously in a salad and to now 1/4 cup phew 😅 Yep definitely some serious addiction there Chef! I'll try omit the drug fully but you probably won't be able to stomach it but let's see..might have to balance it with some honey maybe? What can I sub for that raw noodle? Hmm🤔

Be careful toasting your nuts. Burnt nuts turn to raw nuts.
