This lady is so sweet. She has such a friendly & kind attitude while filming. I like how she went step by step, making it easy. I literally made the salad while watching her so that I got every step right. I didn't do the mandarin oranges though.... To the lady who made the salad: "thank you!"

This sounds so good and I like the idea adding some ramen and the rest when going to have. Thanks for recipe.

My mother used to make this growing up and it was hands down in top 5 recipes she made. I think this is the closest I’ve found to hers. She would make the dressing on the stove with the ramen packet and then let it cool. She didn’t use mandarin oranges but did chopped chicken breast and I’d eat this all in 3 days. It’s a family favorite. Thanks for the video so I can recreate it.

I am making this tommorow with chicken. Tfs🥡 It is late but I just tried to make a dressing to go on it for tommorow. I used peanut butter, rice wine vinegar, lime juice from a bottle, ginger powder, some tobasco, soy sauce, stir fry sauce and honey. It is soo good! I have to use what I have, I am sort if broke. And buy a couple things from 99c store tommorow, green onion and madarin oranges, almond slices, maybe cabbage not sure other wise just ice burg and romaine. So happy I saw this. Tfs

i like how you told why not to use olive oil. i was just going to sub. glad i didnt waste it. i never saw anybody toast ramen noodles or almonds for this recipe.. i will prep mason jars full for quick mixing later on. like the added ingredients too. the mandarin oranges and dried cherries or cran-raisins. mom likes those white things??? forgot what they are called, chestnuts, watercress? anyway, i think that could be nice too. thanks for sharing

All I kept thinking about as I watched you add more ingredients was how good that would be rolled up in a spring roll. I don't know if i'd make it (my kids are picky it would go to waste) but I sure would try it if someone else made it :-)
@kravezomby19518 жыл бұрын
+melissap581 OMG I THOUGHT THE SAME THING AS YOU!!! You could maybe make this but cut the measurements down to half or even 1/3, roll them up in the egg roll wraps they sell, bake them or fry them just to brown the outside, and make them small, and your kids would have a good time eating them and nothing would go to waste since you cut the measurements down. You could even cut the egg roll wraps down the center so they are in halves and make mini ones, depending on how little your kids are. They could even help you mixing everything together and they could add or take away certain things they want or don't want, it could be a fun activity. When you cook it though, just make sure it is only to brown the wrap itself, and leave the inside raw as the veggies lose nutrition as it is cooked, and it won't be as crunchy. I hope my comment inspires you to try this and let me and everyone else know how it goes! I am sure the maker of this video would enjoy hearing about it as well. :) P.S. You are so pretty, I love your profile picture! :) Have a good day, Hon!

The noodles are not UNCOOKED, they are not rehydrated. They were cooked in the manufacturing process.
@suegeorge998 Жыл бұрын
These noodles are precooked, aren't they? That's how they get their wavy look. I'm starting to doubt this myself now. Anyone? I've had this salad and it's the absolute best! Yum!

P.S.. the noodles are already cooked. Usually fried. That’s why they are “instant”. They’re not raw.

i find the bagged cole slaw mix unappetizing. i always use a large head of napa cabbage, sliced thin. it has a much milder taste.
@ericbrack4546 Жыл бұрын
You can just start at the edge of the package and break the noodles by pinching
@fordhouse8b6 жыл бұрын
Maybe an even better argument in favor of using un-boiled ramen as an ingredient is to point out that there are not raw, they are actually fried.

Ramen is a soup. "Ramen noodles" is a marketing term. You can make ramen with any noodles you like. What makes it "ramen" is broth/soup with noodles in.

Andrew Woodhead u r so dumb for that comment

I think your comment was superb. Now I am smarter than I was and that is hard to believe. Christine did not know this.
@patriciaw27154 жыл бұрын
Andrew Woodhead, the term ramen means "pulled noodles". There are different kinds of ramen noodles (like thin, thick, Hakata style, and etc). When you eat ramen, it comes with different flavor of soup base (for example: shoyu, shio, miso, and etc). Ramen is a type of noodles, there are other types of noodles as well like udon, somen, soba, etc. I grew up eating noodles. Lived in Japan for 4 years so I know quiet a lot.

@susanmetz9892 Жыл бұрын
I make this all of the time. You’ve over complicated it. Don’t bother browning or sautéing the almonds and noodles. Just throw them in raw. They turn out fine. You also don’t need to add ingredients and mix after each one. Just toss them all in a bowl and mix once.
@catherinevalli6830 Жыл бұрын
browning (especially the almonds) creates a nice depth of flavor. big difference from the raw. but you do you. it's all good.
