@@cadehuber1576 I was very skeptical about this anime when it first came out and when I watched this year, I immediately regret not watching it. It's a solid good anime with action, drama, and the comedy is hilarious. Totally recommended.

I think he consulted heavily with Ainu people or Ainu historians to make sure he was accurate with the cooking and cultures he featured, like the Ainu. He definitely seems to study whatever he writes about!

@Chief Sy -Anime and Gaming- I think the animation is just fine. It's not animated by any big studio after all. I'm pretty sure Golden Kamuy was their very first anime and they're doing a fantastic job with it.

@@henryC-03 Golden Kamuy is Geno Studio's 2nd anime actually, for a very recent studio they are actually quite good. They collab'd with Manglobe in making a movie in 2017, then made an adaptation for Kokkoku in 2018, and now, they're adapting Golden Kamuy

This is old but yes, is heavily inspired by Simo. In fact, the technique that he use comes from simo (putting snow in his mouth)

It could also be Ogata who's been inspired by "Simo Häyhä" because one of the first episodes Ogata was in he put snow in to his mouth so his breath wasn't visible in the cold air. Simo used the same tactic in the Winter War. Allthough it probably was just a common tactic used by snipers.

Read 1:17. Snipers don't just start "sniping" randomly.

The trope of "I predicted what you were thinking" and "well I predicted you'd know what I was thinking to predict what you would do" , then it becomes a trade-off monologuing without anything actually happening doesn't show me how perfect the sniper is. Very very basic anime trope, but I guess if people still like that stuff

@@aether5031 that's on Crunchyroll, not the anime for captioning like that. If you watched that episode, it was supposed to be a tense moment between both of them with their lives and mission on the line since they had both realized that the enemy also had an elite sniper like them earlier on. They were both on edge so the last thing they wanted to do is act rashly, hence the monologue from both sides trying to analyze their opponents, gathering information while waiting for the brief moment the opponent lets his guard down.
